Do you want the short reason or the long one? [She shakes her head.] Some of us get along just fine. Others of us are a lot happier aggravating each other. But the real problem isn't that we don't get along, it's that all of us think we know better and that's what causes all of the fighting. Feuds get started, people's personalities clash...when we started the pantheon, we were just really bad at communicating with each other as a collective. Even if we didn't realize it.
Cunning. [Like, immediately.] Which is weird because he's actually really smart? But he tends to avoid most of us except for Ambition and Disorder. Merriment's kinda cagey, too, but that's a different story. Indulgence has a hard time hearing anybody else's ideas over his own.
Probably the biggest issue is that we're still getting to know each other and feel each other out. We haven't been a pantheon long and all of us have gone through some pretty weird and sometimes heavy things in our lives. It's about a lack of trust, but...if I said that, I don't know if they'd even listen and believe it. Especially when some of us trust others just fine.
[But there was a lack of collective trust is what she means.]
Smarts don't always translate into communication ability.
[ a fact ludger........ has only heard of bc he's dumb af lmao ]
Why'd you all decide to try and pick a lead god now then, instead of wait a while until you were all more settled? That way you'd have the time to learn each other and really figure out who's the best suited.
...we needed to stabilize a new world, and in order to do that, we needed a leader. The world we had before this ended up growing way too unstable and fell apart. It's why we're rebuilding from the ground up.
It's okay. It's all kind of confusing, isn't it? We have a lot of things that've happened to us and have happened in this game...information gets scrambled a lot.
[There's a thoughtful noise though.] I think...we're going to try our best. Once the ruling's in place and we know who the head of the pantheon is, we'll fall into rank and start working to create the world as we want it. Depending on who's leading, I imagine we'll have different people in higher positions. So, let's say, Ambition won. She'd probably have Cunning and Disorder as her right and left hand. But if Merriment won he'd probably take Piety and maybe one of the others. It's maybe idealistic but I want to think after everything people will abide by the rules of the contest and we can actually start running the world instead of letting it shatter.
...and then we'll have to find people to inhabit it. What's the point of a world if it can't be for people to live there?
…Beauty, believe it or not. He has enough business sense to know what to do, but he knows how to listen to people's ideas and wishes. Piety would be a good choice. And if she'd accept, Ambition. Those would be my top three choices.
The most important thing a ruler can do is listen to the people, right? So that's what we would do. If we had a council we could work with and a hierarchy already decided, I'd hope that solving problems would be faster and easier. Cunning actually has a good idea about wanting to listen to everyone's prayers and decide from there. Making sure people aren't ignored.
And then it'd become about weighing the options and compromising if we had to.

[ he'll also sit, leaning back on his hands with his legs sprawling. ]
So, uh, I was wondering why it seems like... the gods don't really get along with each other?

What's the... biggest issue with communicating? Or, who has the hardest time communicating with everyone else?

That's good! Sorry, I just didn't understand what you were saying.

... Hey, Love? What do you think you'll all do after the world is made?

[ ... for the people, huh? ]
And, how do you think you'd... manage the population? How would you all rule them?
