I'm not going to give you a bunch of long, touchy-feely nonsense about how I'm going to make a world where everyone will be happy or a world where nobody ever suffers. I don't care about the form of the world, I care about the function of it.

I think we can both agree that something lasting for a long time is wonderful. But should it last forever? No, of course not. Sometimes things have to be destroyed in order for new things to spring up in their place.
I'll give a place for everything on my world, but it won't outstay its welcome. When the time is right, the old will move on to make room for the new.

They started insisting we bring in all of you to decide for us, and I didn't want that. So I said it should be a fight to the death on your parts, and I thought that since we had so many goodie-goodies in our pantheon, they'd give up on that idea if they thought death was on the line.
Not enough were goody two-shoes, and then you had to have Patience break the tie. It's too bad it didn't go the way you wanted it to.

Honestly, everyone who suggested using all of you to decide for us should have been taken out of the running. What kind of leader makes other people choose for them? It's so pathetic.
I got it when you first described it, but I think I get a little more of why that's what you want. I know you all can't say more unless we get to know you more, but I think I'm figuring it out.
