[Ducking his head, he eyes Ion's hand, still resting on the back of the pew.
As smoothly as he can, which is not even slightly smooth, because it's an extremely obvious and pretty slow action, he slides his hand along the pew until the two hands touch, his own over Ion's much smaller one.
[Ion pretends not to notice what Luke's doing. He sees it, but he keeps his eyes trained on Luke's face as he shifts his fingers to nestle gently between the other boy's larger ones.]
[Ion beams, and as the conversation stalls...he finds himself comfortable even in the silence. But the silence does bring more questions, and as he looks at Luke, something else comes to mind.]
[The silence between them is familiar, comfortable, and he's content to let it continue, despite himself, for as long as Ion is. So when the other boy pipes up, he raises his eyebrows, and nods.]
...I don't know. After everything with Guy, I guess I felt like I never really knew her, so it's harder for me to say "yeah, of course I trust her!" now, you know?
But... I don't want to not trust her. Does that... make any sense?
Thank you, Luke. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I know she's been suffering, too, from having made choices that hurt others. But I know, if she can just keep getting support...she's going to be a wonderful god.
You're welcome. Yeah, more than anything... I think she needs people around her, supporting good choices, and calling her out on the bad ones. Maybe in that way... she's a little more like me.
[hmm.]
...Ha ha, were you just asking that to talk about Chloe? Or did you want my opinion on everyone?
Hmmm... I guess, other than you, I've probably talked to Chloe the most, though! I guess I have opinions on everyone, but you to more than anything. Nobody left is really... bad, though. Not really dangerous, I guess is what I'd say. Just some I agree more with, and some less.

[His smile softens, eyes glancing down as his cheeks flush.]
When I saw you for the first time, in that dream...it was like watching a miracle unfold in front of my eyes. A miracle beyond even a god.

Bam.
Nailed it.]

I can't think of any other way that I would have.
no subject
Don't tell me... Senri taught you, too?!
no subject
Senri...? What do you mean?
no subject
[AGGGGH
HOW'D ION KNOW THE MANEUVER???? AND HOW'D HE BEAT HIM TO IT?????????]
A-Anyway, if you have time, we should hang out. [...] More, I mean!
no subject
[???]
I'm here now...and tomorrow, we can spend the night together until you fall asleep!
no subject
spending the night together was starting to sound a lot more saucy now than it had in all the weeks prior.]
Oh, uh... yeah, of course! It's tradition, right?
[...]
...Just the two of us?
[It's hard to say if the upward inflection pitch on the end of that sentence was hopeful, or nervous.]
no subject
[He only smiles, eyes shining, neither laughing nor giving Luke any kind of indication that he noticed the awkward tilt of his speech.]
no subject
Cool.
[just like??? it's no thing??]
...Are you staying in, um...
[he indicates vaguely upwards, and to the right.]
...your room? Did you make that, too?
no subject
[Godly powers are just so convenient.]
I'll show you, tomorrow! You just need to know where to look.
no subject
Being a god sure is handy, huh?
Okay. I'll meet you here tomorrow, and you can show me where to look.
no subject
[Ion beams, and as the conversation stalls...he finds himself comfortable even in the silence. But the silence does bring more questions, and as he looks at Luke, something else comes to mind.]
Could I ask you something?
no subject
Yeah, of course. What's up?
no subject
no subject
[He considers it, tilting his head.]
...Like... with my life?
no subject
[He pauses, then decides to add a bit more clarity to the question.]
Do you trust Chloe?
no subject
[that's a real poser.]
...I don't know. After everything with Guy, I guess I felt like I never really knew her, so it's harder for me to say "yeah, of course I trust her!" now, you know?
But... I don't want to not trust her. Does that... make any sense?
no subject
[He squeezes Luke's hand encouragingly.]
It must have been similar with Anise.
no subject
[and suddenly, it feels stupid that he hadn't put it together like that until now.]
...But I did end up trusting her. Because... she trusted me enough to give me a chance. And I know how it feels, when someone won't. So...
[...]
...I guess I want to believe the best about Chloe, too. Just because she's a god, doesn't mean she can't change. Right?
no subject
[At his conclusion, Ion beams.]
Thank you, Luke. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I know she's been suffering, too, from having made choices that hurt others. But I know, if she can just keep getting support...she's going to be a wonderful god.
no subject
[hmm.]
...Ha ha, were you just asking that to talk about Chloe? Or did you want my opinion on everyone?
no subject
[She's just, having such a time?]
But if you have any thoughts on anyone else, I'd be happy to hear those, as well.
no subject
I had a feeling.
Hmmm... I guess, other than you, I've probably talked to Chloe the most, though! I guess I have opinions on everyone, but you to more than anything. Nobody left is really... bad, though. Not really dangerous, I guess is what I'd say. Just some I agree more with, and some less.
How about you?
