It's a little annoying, yeah. There are a lot of times I want to reach out to you guys during trials or when you're together but it's not my place to. But it's nice when people visit? And sometimes we can reach out to you guys if you're alone and we have something important to say.
[That's a fair point, and the god deflates a tiny bit.]
Do you think any of my followers were guilty over the last couple of weeks? I'm pretty sure it's that the others who've had their followers killed are just mad I was in the lead...
I can't say for the last trial since we never figured out what happened at the very end and what Ambition told us about the last person to believe...
[ though they were likely to have been jealous..? seems plausible but— ]
But I don't know. I don't think I know any of your followers, honestly. However, after talking to you... Would you encourage your followers to kill anyone?
As the numbers start going down, that's gonna be more likely than you think. [But.] I've talked to all of my followers...including the ones who've left. They know I'm against the whole idea of hurting somebody else to win, and they've agreed with me. That's what made working with them really easy.
I don't mind if you guess. [There's a little laugh.] I think it's kind of fun that way? A lot of people ask me that, but...I guess I just want a world where the truth is what matters, and even if it's a scary truth people can persist and carry on because there'll be people that support them. I don't like liars and I don't like people that hurt other people for their own gain. I know it sounds idealistic and maybe unrealistic, but a world where people don't feel like they have to hide who they are and struggle so much to hide would be best. You don't have to choose who you are around certain people versus other people, because people have multiple sides to them. It's when you start suppressing some of those sides that anger and bitterness and all sorts of stuff starts manifesting into something that could not only hurt you, but others, too.
...I guess I'm a goddess of Love because I want a world where your bonds are important and will make up for your weaknesses and you can be the strength people need. People shouldn't have to struggle alone, that's not fair. So...a truthful world where you can have people accept who you are, but where justice is just as important for the people who do choose to hurt other people.
[ jude listens thoughtfully and there's a smile that takes over his face the more she speaks. ]
It does. [ a nod. ] I like it, but then again I'm not against listening to things that are idealistic. Sometimes if you look at things too closely, you'll miss the bigger picture. It's not about what you can or cannot do but what you're willing to do.
[ a bit of a pause as he leans back a little. ]
However, it reminds me a lot of what Sincerity wants to create as well. Maybe there are a few things here and there that are different but it feels the same. Is there a reason why you two aren't working together?
Exactly! And that's the kind of thinking that went into us picking you guys to reach out to. Even if it's not exactly what any of us expected.
[So many dead people...]
...I like Sincerity, don't get me wrong. But we all still want to win even if we get along. I don't know if working together's something we can even do until after somebody becomes head of the pantheon. If it were, it'd be an unbalanced competition.
[ what's with people's varying opinions of sincerity here ]
Not even if it was like an alliance? If your ideals matched up I would have thought that it wouldn't be so bad if someone else carried out your ideals. [ softly: ] ...but I guess it would unbalance things.
[ let's try something else. ]
If you couldn't win, though, who would you want to win?
It's a little harder than that...as the head of the pantheon, someone's going to be ruling all of us. While they might listen to our ideas and stuff if we get along, there's also no guarantee. That's the problem. They get the final say no matter what. So yeah, it'd unbalance things.
But if it wasn't me? Maybe Piety? Sincerity doesn't have bad ideas, but some of them need to be firmed up. But the same could be said for all of us.
I hope we pick the right one or it sounds like a system that can be abused pretty easily. Then again, what's considered right and wrong is subjective... What someone believes is good might not be good for everyone. If only we could just—
[ he lets that die and shakes his head. jude just stop. ]
Piety only has one follower left despite everything they've done for us.
[ he rubs the back of his neck as he doesn't say more than necessary. ]
I know. I'm kind of worried about that myself, but…I don't know how to convince people to go to a god if they don't fully believe in their vision. Or talk to them. A lot of you don't talk to a lot of us and that's why the system's flawed a little, too.

...do you have anything important to say? I came here because you've been up on the board as one of our suspects every trial so far.
[ and he hasn't forgotten how she was the correct one the first week. ]

That's a relief to hear.
And what is the kind of world that you'd want? I'd want to guess but that feels wrong to do since you're right here.
