[Wouldn't it be funny if Jude accidentally picked the same kind of flower that Rachel used to accidentally poison Julius? It sure would. But it would also be mean, so let's say it's not that type of flower.
Anyway, Ambition appears in the altar room and scoops the flower up out of the bowl.]
I saved someone you didn't want that just ended up dying anyway, we couldn't find the person who killed Fortune, and I...won't be defecting to Cunning.
[ he looks at her a bit surprised for a moment and eventually smiles softly at her. he isn't sure if he's going to help but— ]
You can still be mad at me. [ jude offers (un)helpfully. ] You don't even have to forgive me for what I've done.
[ he shifts his weight on his feet and crosses his arms behind his back. ]
I'd like if it if you would but it's up to you... I can't speak for anyone else, but I am sorry for everything that happened during that last trial. [ softer: ] If only we could have figured out who killed Fortune...
...did it bother you all that much? When I found out what was happening, I thought more of you would be more relieved that one of us was taken out instead of one of you.
Sorry... [ he'll apologize but it's not quite as sincere as the ones before ] Do you want me to start giving you reasons to be mad at me?
[ it's a joke clearly since he's (now) trying to make her feel better. ]
But truthfully, I'm not happy whenever I see someone get hurt even if it's for this game. I knew that harming other was always an option but I would have wanted things to be resolved in a different way...
[Except, it doesn't really sound like she means that. She can hear it in her own voice and stomps her foot a little.]
I think almost everyone would have liked it better that way, but, like. Have you read mythology? Any time gods get involved in things a bunch of people end up dying. But planning for it from the start made it possible for us to make sure that people don't stay that way.
[ jude's not even trying to make her mad. sorry not sorry. ]
And I really appreciate that you all did that, but you know, there are benevolent gods in mythology. Sure, we hear about the bad ones more but it's important to remember that not everything bad has to happen.
You and me both! Sure, it's shiny and gold, but do you know how much it sucks to have to wear this stupid thing all day? It's ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.
[save jude, he shouldn't have to listen to this]
Look, how this whole thing was going to work was decided before you all even agreed to be here. Whether I agree with you or not, we can't change it now. We're just going to talk in circles about it if people keep bringing it up.
WEEK 4
Anyway, Ambition appears in the altar room and scoops the flower up out of the bowl.]
...you wanted to talk?

I wanted to apologize to you.
[ very sincerely. ]
I saved someone you didn't want that just ended up dying anyway, we couldn't find the person who killed Fortune, and I...won't be defecting to Cunning.
[ he'll bow before ambition. ]
So, I'm sorry.

[she stares at him for a few long moments]
You're apologizing, but something about the way you said that makes me kind of mad.
no subject
[ well, he wasn't expecting forgiveness but— ]

...but you're apologizing, so I know I shouldn't be mad. People don't usually apologize to me. They just do their thing and don't look back.
[so she's confused ... help her, jude. she doesn't know how to deal with this.]
You're at least being nice enough to tell me.
