Oh, it's okay. I've seen...some really violent things before, so you don't have to stop.
[It's Disney it's fine you're fine...]
I wanted to, um...
[He comes forward and sets the box down, sitting across from them.]
I was going to save all of this, but I thought...I want to show you right now.
[When he opens it up, he carefully begins removing the contents: origami piece after origami piece after origami piece, setting each one down gently as if by design in a specific order.]
[Well, it's fine. He'll pause it at least. It's not as if he can exactly play much of it with his hands on fire anyway.
He frowns, but it fades when Sean comes over with the box and sits down with them. He thinks... he isn't sure what he thinks. It's a game maybe, like the ones in here. He's not expecting the origami.
So his drops in surprise when the lid comes off and Sean starts pulling them one after another out of the box. He exchanges a look with Senri briefly and then glances back.]
[senri has no idea what's going on and that's fine. he'll exchange the look with sasuke, just a little bit more perplexed, before he looks back to their baby]
One...of the very first gifts I got was a folded piece of origami.
[He places mountain ranges and houses in a carefully constructed circle. No two pieces are alike, the culmination of many hands, practiced and unpracticed.]
At first, I just liked it. I thought it was cute. But then I got more. Something different and special from so many people.
[There are all kinds of animals, even a dragon and a robot, that guard the homes.]
I've been told a lot of things...a lot of really important lessons. I've been adding to all my offerings, learning how to fold paper in so many ways. I decided that I was going to build a whole world out of paper, and I was told that no matter how easy it could be to tear it apart, as long as I keep it in my heart, it can never truly be destroyed.
[The people come next. All sorts of folded citizens, a circle knitting tighter and tighter, so it's almost as if they're holding hands. And then, finally, at the very center, three figures together that match the three of them, one that Sasuke will certainly remember. When it's all put together, the entire thing forms a spiral.]
It's just the beginning of Rasen, but it was made by so many hands. I think...that counts for a lot of things. I think it's going to be a wonderful place.
[His throat is so tight. He can't tell if it's from the curse or if it's from the hot sting of something behind his eyes. There's not really anything left, and it wouldn't be sad, but...
Even though his face breaks some, he doesn't look away from the world being slowly constructed between them. All of it... He's so glad. That it hadn't just been him. That it had been other people, too, other things.
Gently, he smiles, and even if Senri doesn't get some of it, he smiles like it's a secret shared between them.]
senri watches, and he listens carefully. he thinks about how a lot of this was hidden away from him, and how there was still so much that he didn't know. Rasen. origami. the friendships and connections that sean had managed to build for himself. senri's heart aches in his chest and he's not quite the same as sasuke, how tears spring to his eye so easily and he just reaches out to scoop sean into his arms in a hug]
[He's so intent on the project that he's finished setting up, on worrying over how it may be received, that when the reception comes, he's almost...shocked out of a daydream. So as Senri pulls him into his arms, as he looks between their faces with the expression of someone trying to map every detail of the memory, he can't help but let out a bubble of happy laughter.]
[Despite the ache to his fingers, he reaches out to lift the one of the three of them, looking it over. It's just a silhouette, but one definitely has Senri's hair, one has Sasuke's, and one has a helmet. Maybe he'll have to make a new one now with Sean's real face.
He puts it back down where it had been, picks up one or two more to look them over, smiling faintly, and then he returns those to the same place, too.]
Rasengan. [He looks up to the two of them.] Only a few ninja are able to perform the rasengan. It's a shape transformation. It's... one of Naruto's signature moves.
He... was my one and only friend. ["Was" because... he's made some more since then.] He wants to become Hokage, the leader of Konoha. He wants to create a village where everyone is safe and happy, and he always says he wouldn't give up on his dream. He never had a family. His parents died when he was a baby, defending the village from Kurama, the Nine Tails Beast.
When he was older, the whole village shunned him because they were afraid of the boy with the beast locked inside him. But no one ever told him why. And they were afraid of me, too, the brother of a boy who killed their entire clan.
And being with him and Sakura... as Team 7, it reminded me of my family. It felt like... I had one again. I was afraid... I wouldn't get strong enough to protect them. That they would hold me back... That... [He frowns.] ...I would lose them. But... I never did. Not even when I tried.
So... if that thin hammer can beat me and become Hokage, I'm going to help him make the world he wants.
[ . . . right. Sean did tell him that he should ask Sasuke what 'Rasen' meant - and it makes him smile as he listens to the explanation, even holding onto their baby in his arms in a warm hug. he laughs quietly to himself even as he brings the two of them over, closer to Sasuke, so he's not left holding onto just the paper version of their little family]
Look at the both of you - getting all ready to create your worlds... I'm sure they'll be beautiful, you know?
It almost makes me think that I need to work harder - maybe I should try to change my world for the better too?
[what a big dream that he never thought that he'd have. but he'll shift so that he can try to hold onto sean with one arm - the other one opening up to beckon sasuke closer

Just like all the hands that made it.
