[Time to head up the stairs!! Luckily, there's nothing else boobytrapped on the stairs, and once they reach the top they'll find the attic door.
Entering the attic, there's plenty for them to look at. It's cluttered, several items spilling everywhere. There's a beautiful scarf, some dented bronze shields, a stuffed Hydra head, a pair of fuzzy dice, a sword hilt, a bunch of jars with something in each one, and something on a pedestal. There's also a long shadow cast against the back wall.
The infirmary has left him scarred for life? So he's definitely checking for booby traps before entering the attic. Once it's proven to be javelin free, though, he starts taking a look around the room. There are several things of interest, of course, and he's giving each of them a cursory glance as he carefully walks around... but it's the shadow on the back wall that catches his attention the most.
So, you know. Time to approach and figure out what the heckie is casting that shadow.]
ray has his gun out, dividing half his attention to keeping an eye on the others and the other half to investigating. he'll look at the hydra head??? do we have to yeet grapes into it.]
[Let's start with the easy mode first. The hydra head, thank god, is just a hydra head. It just stares blankly. The jars Zoe looks at will show that they contain the heads of several kinds of mythological monsters.
And finally, as Connor approaches the figure, he'll find a corpse. It's a shriveled female body wearing a tie-dyed sundress, several beaded necklaces and a headband over long black hair. It's clear this mummy's been around for a very long time. On the other hand, as Connor approaches the mummy suddenly sits upright and her jaw drops, green mist pooling from her mouth and suddenly spilling over the floor with a loud, hissing sound.
All three of them will hear:]
"I am the spirit of Delphi, speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, slayer of the mighty Python. Approach, seeker, and ask."
He's taking a step back when he first catches sight of it, startled, and then another when it suddenly begins to move. It's only when he hears its "voice" that he regains some iota of chill — if only because he more less understands what this is. Greek mythology bullshit, indeed.]
The Oracle of Delphi... [Hey, Cunning. Wtf. He'll glance over to where the others are.] I think we're allowed to ask a question. We should decide on one that will yield the most benefits.
[He's partial to the idea of asking "who will be responsible for this week's murderer(s)" or something about the competition itself. But, uh. They should decide on something as a group, maybe.]
[For a moment it looks like nothing happens as the green mist grows stronger. And then…the voice of a young adult male fills their ears.]
You shall face a trial of limited time… …man, I actually suck at rhymes. I didn't even think you'd get this far. But then again here you are. Guess I should probably reward your task. So here's a hint to what you asked.
[As the mist fills the room, the corpse grows quiet again. But soon, they won't see the corpse of this oracle, but rather someone different.
Connor will see Hank. Ray will see Emma. And Zoe will see Evan.
They will only see the person that's important to them, but they will all hear the same message in the voice of this person.]
You shall face a trial of limited time. You shall seek culprits of multiple crimes. You shall learn that things are not as they seem. And you shall scrutinize members of your own team.
[The door doesn't pop open just yet. You have one more chance before the house yeets.]
Connor's LED flashes a bright red for a split second, almost like he's been gutted — before it shifts to yellow. It'll gradually return to blue as the prophecy wraps up, but Connor will stare at """Hank""" for a couple of seconds longer. After that's done, he just
abruptly spins on his heel
and calmly walks over to the pedestal. What's up, mystery item? Can he be a klepto over here, too?]
it's almost painful to see emma again, in a visceral way. for a moment, he remains rooted to the spot—but once the message is over, he shakes his head.
looking over at zoe, as he holds out his hand—]
I think we're just about done here, so you can probably give me my knife back.
[She stands and stares for a long moment, too, hardly daring to breathe. Unlike the others, she takes a step forward towards the figure she sees, raising a hand as if to reach for him... Before she hears Ray speak, and abruptly steps away again.
With a pause and a sigh, she hands him the knife, then goes to grab the scarf.]
[Sorry guys. With that said, Ray obtains his knife, and Zoe's free to grab the scarf though she should be careful. It's very soft and pink.
Connor, meanwhile, will approach the pedestal and pick up what looks like a long, curved dragon's claw.
The moment he picks it up though the house rumbles and an attic window opens, a whirlwind force suddenly moving to sweep all three of them up and kick them out of the house.

Well, while Connor looks at the ominous shadow and Ray looks at the ominous hydra head, Zoe heads towards those jars to see exactly what's in them.]

... I think the alignments of the guilty parties for this upcoming weekend might be a good idea.
[because lbr, the murders aren't going to suddenly stop this week.]
Unless this is some sort of trick.

[She gives a nod of agreement to that question, though, taking a step forward. It feels right to give a little bow before she speaks.]
Um... We want to know the alignment, or alignments, of the guilty parties this next trial.
