[The locked room is bigger on the inside than it looks like it would be. In fact, it's two rooms - the first is an office, with a desk near a fireplace, bookshelves lining the walls, and a plush rug across the ground.
Across the wall from the entrance is another sturdy wooden door.
The fire in the fireplace crackles invitingly. Welcome, Luna.]
[Oh, how unexpectedly cozy. Everything else here is rather dark and unfortunate, but this particular room stands out a little. She'll approach the office first; the desk seems like a promising place to find something interesting.]
[There is an inkwell on the desk, with a quill sitting in it, just waiting to be use. A few blank pieces of parchment are scattered on it, along with a small box of loose items.
The desk itself has three drawers on the bottom left hand side.]
[The box has a few pieces of a currency Luna won't recognize, some pins, and a keyring with three small keys. One has a symbol that looks like a leaf etched into it, one has a symbol that looks like a sun, and one has a symbol that looks like a star.
[She holds up what looks like a strange little watch, and gives a small shrug.]
This contraption was given by the gods. Justice, if I recall. It seems quite like him to give machines as rewards. It was very useful for getting in here. Now...
[She gestures at the door ajar behind Madoka.]
I hadn't taken you for someone who breaks and enters, Madoka.
[The bookshelf is full of dusty leather tomes - however, one looks a little lest dusty than the others! It's kept shut with a small lock that has a star design on etched onto it.
Meanwhile, none of the little keys on Luna's ring work on the drawers.]
[ Avoiding questios, who's avoiding questions!! Certainly not Madoka!!!
She plucks that book out in particular, because ohh, interesting. She's just fiddling with the lock with her fingers while she wanders over to check the other door. ]
[Luna will remember this. But perhaps slightly less ominously.
Luna has picked up one of the pieces of currency to examine, and afterwards comes over to where Madoka is examining the door. Hmm. She has the keys with her, too.]
I thought I should learn more about the owner of this wing. Still, you and I are a strange combination for this.
[Important to Luna too -- for various reasons, some of which have nothing to do with the contest itself. She merely looks at Madoka for a moment, and then nods, almost resignedly.]
At the very least, it can never hurt to learn a little more about our hosts.
[And then she looks closer, not at Madoka but at the book.]
[The door is totally unlocked, and when Madoka opens it, she'll find that it leads into a smaller bedroom. This one has a nice, comfortable-looking bed with a quilt, more bookshelves, an armoire, and a smaller writing desk with a single drawer.
The star key matches the star lock! It unlocks the book with a little click. The book opens, and reveals various pencil sketches of people.
One page is loose, and falls out of the book. If Luna and Madoka stop to pick it up, they'll find it bears the following image: ]
[ Madoka reaches down to pick up the photo, and holds it out for Luna to look at too.
She gives Luna plenty of time to look at it but in the interest of speeding along an exploration - once Luna's had a good look, Madoka is heading to the writing desk to try and open that drawer. ]
Who do you think they are? Some of the gods, probably...?
I wonder. Lalivero was built of Fortune's... Sheba's memories of where she grew up. The same may hold true for the other wings, to varying degrees. In which case, the gods, who have not been together very long, shouldn't be a large part of each other's areas.
[It's all just speculation, though, and she examines the photo curiously before moving on to the bookshelves. Maybe if one key matches one book, she should start looking for more mystery volumes.]
[The writing desk's drawer is locked, sadly. It has a keyhole that is rather small.
The shelves on the books look more or less ordinary. The spines are all about equally dusty, as though they haven't been remove from the shelf any time recently.]
[Meanwhile, Luna is going to rifle through the armoire, but politely...? She'll look at the bottom and the back, and examine the clothes and pockets. Are these Ruin's clothes...... Hm.]
It seems like the owner of these effects quite likes them secure.
[Luna remarks this over Madoka's shoulder, peering at the journal with mild curiosity before she gives the bed a quick look over. Does it look cozy? Anything under it?]
[It does! The journal details the goings-on in the orphanage - specifically, the entry Madoka opens it to first details the investigation into the theft of some travelers that have come into town. The writer seems to think they've figured out the culprit, but aren't sure whether or not to turn them out into the streets.]
There really is no sense in having certain powers, if we are not expected to use them.
[Just saiyan. She peruses the journal patiently for a moment--]
If we are here to learn about Ruin, then these must be related to her in some way. Just as the presence of this whole orphanage must mean something. I would not be surprised if this is where she grew up.
[But Ruin is never seen around the orphanage, so who knows if this room is actually hers now....]
[The books range in a wide variety of topics - treatises on medicinal plants, books with the stories of "the goddess Martel," the history of various monsters, etc.
[ Hmm Madoka is going to flip through the book on the goddess Martel out of curiosity, but im familiar with that so you don't have to.... flavortext it if it's a hassle..... ]
I think they get to pick, but... I guess I don't know.
[Is all she says as she focuses on the search. She'll sweep any place that they haven't looked, and any place they may not have looked closely. The floor, under and behind the desk, on, under or behind the bookshelf, under the rug, around the fireplace...]
[god bless because i am not somewhere with access to my copy of the symphonia games rn
anyway! there's not much else for them to find here, really, so we'll call it a wrap; you guys can continue to have them backtag and chat for cr purposes if you want]

[ there are monsters all around and stuff... but anyway Madoka is going to look and see what sort of books are on the shelf. ]

[That's something to question gods about, probably. The journal itself seems rather mundane, but it's something to file away for later.
Luna is going to scour the other room to see if they can find the keys for the drawers in that other desk.]
