Talking is hard.

[Even if it was probably necessary, it still was exhausting.]

Can I just hold you for a while?

Of course you can.

[She gives him a tight squeeze, but then pulls away just so she can take him by the hands and steer him back toward his room.]

C'mon. I know the mask isn't very comforting.

You're comforting all the time.

[But he'll still follow wherever she leads.]

You're too sweet.

[Once they have their privacy, Patience shakes her hair out of her robes once again, pulling off her mask and adjusting her glasses.]

Come over here.

[Sitting down on his bed, she raises her arms for him to come get himself comfortable. Her bosom is all yours, Chuuya.]

[No need to tell him twice. Chuuya sits beside her, wrapping his arms around her gently.]

...Thanks.

[Mumbled against her shoulder.]

[Patience puts her hand on his cheek, cupping his face softly as she leans down to kiss his temple. If he doesn't want to talk, that's fine; she'll stay right where he needs her, as long as that may be.]

[He doesn't want to talk about that, but after a minute of just hugging her, he speaks up.]

...hey. Do you want me to call you by your real name?

Sure--it's Katherine. A little...old fashioned, I know.

It's beautiful. Like you.

[So it suits her.]

Flatterer.

[She gives him a wry smile.]

Hey now, I'm sincere, remember?

[It's one of his only actual virtues.]

Well, I guess you got me there.

[Teasingly, she touches a fingertip to his nose, but then more tenderly, caresses the likely-swollen skin beneath his eyes.]

[Definitely swollen from recent crying, and that cuts off his teasing right away.]

...I must look pretty pathetic right now.

You look honest.

[why does she have to turn that around on him immediately.]

That doesn't rule out the first part.

Well, I kind of like the you that you don't want to show. I don't think it's pathetic.

...You really don't?

[It's hard to believe that from anyone, but especially from someone who could do so much better.]

[She laughs gently.]

Of course not. I like you. That means liking the parts that aren't as pretty.

You've got some bad taste. ...but I like you too, so. I'm glad.

[how are they this soft I hate this actually]

I get that all the time.

[She grins before tipping his hat back and leaning her forehead into his.]

People confessing their undying like to you left and right, huh?

[He presses a kiss to her lips, soft and chaste.]

[She laughs, her eyes closing as her lips curl in a smile.]

Well, maybe that, too.

Somebody said you might be the most powerful god here. I'm thinking they might be right.

[The power... of harems.]

I can't help wondering who would say a thing like that. Well, I don't know if it would be fair of me to agree or disagree one way or another.

I'll agree for you and you can keep being modest.
