julius really didn't think much of chuuya while alive but then again he also did not think much of 90% of the competitors outside of "hm, surprising skew towards the younger end, but w/e, if they signed up to be here they signed up for the competition."

so if they'd stayed alive i can assure you with........ at least a fair amount of certainty that their cr would never have gotten past the polite acquaintances that know jack all about each other phase.

of course, we both died instead, and this might come up in some writeup later but julius, on account of being from julius end, is in a terrible place mentally, so despite his general casualness and playing things off as 'well it's not like i've actually lost anything for when i go back, we'll return home like nothing's changed' he actually flipped straight into 'i don't care, actually' as a coping mechanism for having lost what he saw as his chance to fix things. so when chuuya pressed on his backstory, he went 'why the hell not?' and spilled whatever deets were asked for.

and then chuuya started projecting and julius went 'wait, why do you care so much hang on, fuck i messed up' and attempted to keep any further discussion somewhat lighter, but you know, apparently chuuya is stubborn. here julius is trying desperately to keep further friendship from happening for like, both his own sake and chuuya's, and yet, he shot himself in the foot because he couldn't be a total asshole.

plus it was nice getting to bitch about things out in the open, whew. they had their disagreements, but for the most part chuuya was pretty okay to be around and talk to, so??? here they are with chuuya yelling at him for being a moron!!! thanks!!!

anyway more seriously uh hm. hm. where do I even start,

julius has contemplated punching a god on at least one occasion bc wtf why bring ludger here, this is the worst. ultimately though it seemed ludger actually liked ambition and also he doesn't want to shoot himself in the foot god-relations wise so that never happened.

a lot of their relations here were genuine in a way, but also based on a lie? due to the whole differing canonpoints thing, and lmao xillia and parallel universes. julius has actually never attempted intentionally to mislead and string ludger along outside of lying by omission about exactly when he's from, and he came clean about that later to....... test ludger's reaction lmf. because yeah he never did get confirmation on whether either of them is a fracture, so spent the game acting accordingly, with a forced sort of mental disjoint between ludger and 'his ludger' just in case.

kresniks are no good at casual anything, though, and it was just...... really nice to fall back into how things used to be. it feels like forever ago, god.

ah sieg. sieg hits the 'baby, must protect' buttons julius has pretty hard bc regardless of how he's actually a lot more used to death and murder than a lot of the civvies and babies here he's also got that touch of-- innocence isn't quite the word i want to use here just bc of how fiction tends to use it but. yeah. that or guilelessness, there we go. if things were different sieg would be one of the types julius would be trying to keep out of the Trial(tm) and other such discussion

what i'm saying is that if julius weren't so currently closed off for redacted reasons sieg would have fit the bill for someone he probably would have ended up adopting eventually a la ludger. he's not necessarily naive or unrealistic about their circumstances which is also a nice trait as opposed to certain,,,, idealists,,,, but also is still pretty earnest and see above innocence/guilelessness comments as opposed to say, all the two-faced ppl and hypocrites we have running around. people are weak etc etc. also responsibility same unfortunate hat.

i keep feeling i need to emphasize that julius did not go into this with the intention of making any connections whatsoever and in fact was actively intending to keep people at an arm's distance despite any amount of softness or general nice politeness, so any real deep cr building would have been inherently gimped by this. he really did end up liking sieg in a general sense, though, even when i was reminded about strung red in the gy and julius ended up hypothesizing on who strung him, with sieg's name coming up in the discussion. this was prompted by ray's comment of them basically being a disaster, for the record.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ from the beginning it was clear luna marched to the beat of her own drum so julius basically was pretty hands off with her. polite but noncommittal, vaguely curious about what's the deal if only because of general wariness pointing her out as someone to watch carefully, but other than that he didn't have much of an opinion through madoka is ruinfest or the sleepover or anything really until they all died. after which eeeh well

the scope of luna's morality isn't actually anything julius is unfamiliar with- in fact it's pretty similar to some persons he deals with on a regular basis, whether it's no worth in individual (human) life, just humanity (or i guess robots for luna) as this sort of conceptual whole to be preserved; means justify ends, etc etc

call him small minded bc he's never been able to detach himself enough for that sort of thinking, preserving the whole at the cost of who knows what else. no matter what. he's tried, seriously. and at this particular julius' canonpoint, even less so, but eeeeh reasons.

in the end he sees where she's coming from and why she might think the way she does, he just doesn't agree. that said, he also doesn't have enough of a stake in things to argue her down or anything like that, and doesn't have enough personal investment to dislike her as a person, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ambivalence intensifies. at the end of the day because of that detachment he was fine dealing with p much everyone in the gy, mostly?
