I was going to say "the funny thing is I bet we won't have CR at all next game" and then I remembered we're doing canonmates so I'm fine.

Anyway.

…I was going to start easiest to hardest but it's REALLY HARD when Taka had very significant CR with all of my gods. So I guess I'll start wiiiith…

Cunning: Taka and Luke's CR was so funny and so real half the time and while Taka's still bad at negotiating and also broke into Luke's room, he came to like him on his own time. Taka was one of the first to just talk to him and ask questions and hang out and even though he told Taka that he was refusing audiences it was because it was easier than thinking of the fact nobody would WANT to come see him, so Taka visiting post-Guy's everything was really nice tbh. They think alike on some things and don't on others but Taka was always easy to just spitball ideas with and just chat at. He appreciates that Taka is the type of person to work for things instead of waiting around to have them handed to him, and that's pretty much the fastest way to get Luke to like you.

Beauty: Lord. Tamaki and Taka had a really complicated relationship for the entirety of Plasma and I think it's so strange that if Senri wasn't there they maybe would have stood a chance of actually being okay. In the end it's not even that he disliked Taka. He actually liked Taka quite a bit but Taka was very, very much his Hikaru-proxy with a little mix of Kyoya in there. He saw Taka as a rival for a while even when he wanted to make friends with him and it got even more complicated as the game went on. They butted heads a lot and they absolutely did not share philosophies at all but he saw Taka as a challenge. Tamaki's a pretty competitive person and so he was sort of playing against himself in the vein of "I want to see if I can get Shishimaru-kun to be my friend." Even when Taka broke him for a week, it's hard to say if Tamaki even blamed him. He never really told anybody what happened or who said it because he acknowledged that Taka had some truth in his statements and validity in his decisions. In a way, he's mostly unsure where they stand even now, but he won't hesitate to call him a friend even if Taka won't return the sentiment. Taka makes Senri happy and can take care of him like Tamaki can't. Sometimes you just shut up and smile and remain happy for your friends.

Love: Rise will destroy anyone who hurts Taka, bye. I REALLY don't know what happened because in their early weeks she found Taka to be sort of frustrating to talk to! She hit him with shoes! She wanted to throttle him for being so stubborn! But…they started talking more, and she came to trust him. She found out that under his prickly demeanor there was a really cute, thoughtful and smart boy that just wanted to avoid getting hurt from trusting people and she was like "yeah okay that's super understandable." Especially in their later weeks, Taka was someone she would confide in and someone she'd always have fun with, and Taka was 100% someone she would consider more a friend than a participant in the game. She learned from him and she hopes he maybe learned from her, too, and Taka's one of the people she's going to miss the most. She loves that Taka would allow her to be a little messy and weird and not that perfect and that Taka befriended her for being her. And in the end, yeah, she absolutely understood why Senri fell for him because she would have, too, if they weren't both spoken for. Even with that in mind she acknowledged that she was attracted to him and would flirt with him for fun. Taka's a very special person to her and she only wants his happiness in the years going forward, but if he never came back she'd be hella pissed and go find him herself.

Merriment: …:T

So we've talked about this a little, but Jack's very first thought was that he'd blown his first conversation with Taka and that Taka was going to leave him. His other follower had never gone to see him one on one and so he put a lot of trust and faith in trying to keep Taka on his side, so in their first conversation he was really awkward and nervous. As you found out later, his canonpoint was basically the middle of ROTG which meant his entire everything SURE WAS NOT MERRY. And it's funny because I think that if he'd been post-film their friendship would have been very different. Jack would have been happier and more goofy and probably still somehow too Much for Taka. But no, he was an emo winter spirit handling a baby emo and it was weird.

Jack was on edge for their first couple of conversations, feeling out the situation and testing the waters. Over time he started to grow fond of him and trusted him, starting to get to know him and tell Taka a little more about himself. He kind of functioned under the idea that he wouldn't bother Taka and he'd let Taka come to him and it's funny because as he just sat back and observed he started seeing more and more of himself in Taka and kind of went "oh holy shit I GET IT." He understood what it was like to not want to work with people and not being able to rely on them but as they started growing closer he realized he was heavily relying on Taka and that he had to be someone Taka could also rely on. This was especially true after Taka witnessed his first death via All Nighter and that's about when Jack went "okay, he's still a kid. I can't let anything bad happen to this kid because nobody else has ever proven they'll take care of him."

I didn't actually expect Jack to get his Guardians development but working with Taka gave him a renewed sense of purpose and as they became friends and just started hanging out Jack started gaining confidence in what he was doing. Working with all of the All Nighters was helpful but his priority was and always would be Taka. Jack was also one of the gods who revealed his face later than the others because he was highkey ready to disappear. He expected to go unseen like he always had, so Taka being the very first person to see him (besides the gods) was his breaking point from "I'll take care of him" to "I will do whatever it takes to make sure this light doesn't go out. Ever."

Without Taka sticking with him, Jack 100% would have just kind of given up and let someone else take over because he was terrified he wasn't qualified for the job and still wracked with guilt about what had happened with the other guardians. In a way they needed each other and he would not be the same person he ended up being without Taka in his life. It's the wrong dreamworks movie but literally "I looked at him and I saw myself" has never applied so strongly and Senri kind of told him about the soulmate thing and Jack sort of just nodded and went "yeah, I agree."

Even in the end when Taka switched to Piety Jack never blamed him because the goal was always for Taka to get his wish and be happy. He's proud of his kid through and through and he's going to have a lot of cool things to show him the next time he sees him.
