He does! His opinion on Ray is... the same as it was before he passed away, only increasing in effect after Ray was SOLVING MURDERS FROM THE AFTERLIFE. Holy shit!!! This kid is only a little older than him, and is absolutely running circles around actual real adults. Luke was awestruck from the very beginning, and consistently nervous about approaching him. Even in their singular conversation, he was unconsciously worried of somehow letting him down.

Ray's passing, combined with Guy's betrayal, was a huge push for Luke to step up. If someone that young could do it... well, hell, he should get his head in the game. He doesn't know anything about Ray outside of his general positive impression, but it's so good, it drove him to be better.
