so like ishi mentioned in that one pc where mizuki admitted they'd originally thought they could use him, ishi worked with them at first because he was lowkey doing the same thing? he thought mizuki was smart and sharp and he could get good information from them, but he was unsure about trusting them because he thought they would also turn on him if they thought it was the best option. so. it took a little bit for him to really start sharing-- it was when mizuki admitted their alignment that he opened up more, because he could tell it wasn't something they shared easily and took it as a sign of trust.
and THEN mizuki really started learning some Shit and i am so sorry i came to you twice like HEY SURPRISE YOUR CLOSE CR HAS KILLED AGAIN SIB!! but ishi really did come to rely on them a lot? they were willing to trust and help him, and he trusted and wanted to protect them in turn... he also ended up just enjoying their company a lot because he was infosharing with a bunch of teens and a twelve year old and his favorite gods were a young spirit and a literal 2 year old replica so mizuki was like. his only close adult company. that's really what resulted in him leaning on them more, in the end.
...which led to him getting even softer on them and catching a few feelings, which. took him a while to realize because he's a sword? he knows familial love, he's raised two children and had something of a family that way, but he hasn't known attraction or anything like that prior to meeting mizuki. for someone who has a lowkey identity crisis, confidence like theirs was very attractive, plus they got along well with him and he put a lot of trust in mizuki. i honestly can't think of anything he lied to them about, he just didn't share a few things because senri told ishi he was a little scared of mizuki. SO YEAH this has all been his first experience with this kind of human emotion... and it didn't work out, which he has just kind of been quietly repressing because maybe it's best for an oldass spirit like him to just not be too involved with humans in that way anyway.
but sitting on your feelings is not how to deal with them or make them go away!! so he definitely still has them and is just trying to kind of ignore they exist, because he knows they won't do him any good? he genuinely wants to see mizuki happy, though, regardless of how or with who, so they have his full support. please go be happy with majima Somewhere in all these universes, mizuki, so he doesn't have to hang around and wonder whether you're alive.
