SENRI...

SENRI IS FUNNY BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE HE THEORETICALLY HAD THE CHARACTERISTICS TO BE SOMEONE MIZUKI REALLY LIKED... like at a basic level, he has a decent amount of things in common with tamaki, who they loved - he's energetic, friendly, optimistic, etc etc. You can see in some of their earlier conversations where they actually compliment him for some of these qualities!! But at some point, something obviously went wrong...

As horrible as it might sound, I think the fact that Senri wasn't as naive and innocent as he appeared to be is what started driving Mizuki away from him. Mizuki did actually find him suspicious; they thought his copious social networking could easily be connected to a killer making sure that everyone is thinking the way he wants them to, and his attitude could be a front. They said they were worried about him because he lived in their house, but that was basically a lie, even if it was another benefit of cursing him, practically speaking. Mizuki was really just testing their powers out and getting a feel for what they might be able to do, and they thought that Senri would make a perfect target - they saw him as young and trusting to a fault, and they figured they'd be able to get away with it even if things went belly-up. It worked with Tamaki, after all!!

But not so much with Senri. The fact that he wasn't as much of a pushover as they were anticipating kind of drove them away from him, but they were still willing to use him as an information source as long as he was willing to keep telling them things. And their relationship miiiight have still recovered then, but the huge spectacle that was Week 3 only made them more suspicious of him for the reasons listed above, plus the fact that he was an actual actor. The thing that really made them detach from him was that he managed to find their weak point, though. I mentioned it in your plurk earlier, but when Senri called them out on trying to do everything alone and having no one because of it, he was right on the fucking money LMFAO. Mizuki is super insecure about that, to the point of essentially being in denial that it's a problem to everyone but the people who really get close to them - like, I think this only ever came up with Tamaki, and even then, they only mentioned it obliquely? So having him suddenly strike at the heart of their insecurities freaked them out and made them batten down the metaphorical hatches. It was like he tried to jump up to social link 9 when he was at like, 3... they didn't like it!!

But they don't hate Senri or anything. They do think his ideals are admirable, if naive. In the end, his methods ended up not being wrong, so they can't fault him for them. They just hope he's more careful in the future. The fact that he was never a killer means he's actually just like that, which means he's ripe to get into trouble...
