i don't know what to say that you wouldn't already know considering this is what we screamed nonstop about for like seven weeks. senri was very literally his discount, great value naruto. everything lined up so fucking well, and i hate you every single second for it.

senri was the one sole reason for sasuke not going turbo like i planned, even unintentionally.

the week ishi and taka went to do their god hunting, sasuke was going to try to do it, and i probably would have had him die. but NO, his ass got STRUNG RED with senri. week four was hell on earth for him, closely followed by week six.

but sasuke would have always been last in the senri race, unfortunately. he didn't realize he cared about senri the way he did until week four when they were strung together. by then, senri and taka had already at least shown they were interested. but sasuke would have never budged or admitted anything until at least the end of week five, or week six when he did. week six is probably when he would have kissed senri on his own, but then the curse happened and so senri thought it was that. sad.

their love story wasn't ever meant to be, but it's fine.

senri gave him a whole lot more than just boyfriend material, and he is thankful for that. for getting him to open up, for getting him to be normal, to have fun, to be a teenager, to open his heart, to learn how to have an actual date. (god help sakura) he'll go back to konoha and naruto and sakura and be a better person than when he left, and he has senri to thank for all of that, regardless of what he did learn from merriment and love and beauty.

if there were ever a time someone had to be sacrificed for senri, it would have been sasuke. he would have shoved everyone out of the way and put his neck out if it meant senri got to keep trying to help everyone else, if it meant senri being with his pretend family and his boyfriend.

bc that is literally the canon uchiha curse. "the curse of hatred." they love so very passionately and deeply, and if anything happens to who they love, they're consumed by hatred. which is why the pda and subsequent love arrow hurt him so terribly, why it stung when he felt strung along by senri's need for attention when him and taka had already been getting close.

senri turned sasuke into putty and honestly sasuke did everything he could to try to make senri happy, but he wouldn't ever say anything. never. it's not who he is. if senri wanted to know how sasuke felt, senri would have had to look at his actions, not the words.

but in the end, he sort of had to come to a resolution. he did have that moment of almost considering asking for senri's memory to be wiped of him for endgame. i should've done it to HURT YOU DANA but anyway, he talked to love instead, and she helped him. though he did ask her for a way to dull his emotions, and i almost did that, too, but the love arrow would've been in effect still and that's what he was trying to get rid of most.

so he tried to not think about it and, again, tried to make senri happy by accepting to go with him and taka back to tokyo even if it hurt (hurts???) him. it's fine. he had a nice dream. a nice summer fling? he'll go back to konoha and, one day, return to tokyo with a wife and a little black-haired toddler named sarada for senri and taka's wedding.
