I did. [the cake is gone now, after all.] So... why did you want to see me?

I wanted to learn more about you and talk to you in person.

That's rare. Most of you have been deciding what I'm like without even talking to me. I've been so lonely.

But you still have followers, right? Have they been visiting?

[divus]

Not much!

[She stomps her foot.]

I don't get it. I've been on my best behavior this whole time.

I'm sorry.

I can come visit you more often, if that's what you'd like.

Really? You'd do that for me?

I'm sorry it took me so long to come visit.

I guess I can't really blame you. Everyone's been saying awful things about me, so no one wants to come visit.

[heartmunculus]

Then... why don't you tell me a little bit about yourself. Or if you can't do that... the world that you want to create?

[divus]

None of us are allowed to just start talking. But we can answer questions for you.

[She shrugs.]

I'm not too fussed about the little details of the world I make, as long as it's a world that functions. Sisi, are you one of those people that think things are best if they can last forever?

[heartmunculus]

Sisi?

... No. Things should get a chance to grow and change. Conflict can come out of that, especially for people.

[divus]

It's a nickname.

[Don't worry about it.

More importantly, Ruin claps her hands together.]

Yes. You get it! A world can't work if some things don't come to an end so new things can begin. That's the kind of world I'm going to make.

[heartmunculus]

So a world where things will... grow and change? And when they're done with that, something new will take over?

Did I get that right?

Was that what your world was like? Or... was locked in stagnation?

[divus]

[Ruin shrugs delicately.]

There were some very old ideals and customs that needed to be destroyed. But nothing was changing, and people were suffering for it.

[heartmunculus]

Trying to talk to the people with the old ways of thinking... they were the type who wouldn't listen?

[divus]

Worse than that. They were the type to try and punish people who spoke out against them.

[heartmunculus]

So talking to them would've been entirely impossible... Were you able to change things in the end?

[divus]

I was in the middle of it when I ascended. The new world I make won't have any place for them.

[heartmunculus]

But... won't there always be people like that? Who don't want to change their ways?

There might not be the same people, but... ideas like that, once they're there, it's hard for them to change... barring extenuating circumstances.

[divus]

It will be an entirely new world. Ideas like that won't be there to start with.
