Maybe this is just the rules of my universe but: If you tamper with the past too much and too often, Earth will simply cease to exist.

They are stupid, but if those points can be restored Earth comes back like nothing ever happened.
But the time where Earth was missing is still missing. It was like losing a year and some change.
