[She materializes in the courtyard not long after everyone else has dispersed, tense and worried as she steps closer. Since they're out in a place she anticipates a lot of foot traffic, she's in her cloak and mask.]
I know. That's the problem. [She definitely saw, too.] It's going to feel that way the less and less people we have here. It's unfair. And it's why I never wanted this.
[She takes his hand, and if he'll let her she'll begin to pull him along so they can walk together.]
It's...really hard. I hate seeing you guys go through this. If I had a choice, I think the competition would have just been based on what was happening before. All of you talking to us, changing gods as you thought was appropriate and voting based on that. None of the killing stuff. A lot of you moved on your own anyway...and then Ambition's power even without the murders being taken into account.
It doesn't. That's what makes me so mad. And the killers...some of them don't even have good excuses for why they did what they did. It's just a vicious cycle. But I...how do you get everyone to stop?
It's just as bad all of us have favorites among the participants, too.
But... That means some of them did have reason to do what they did. [He shakes his head. Unfortunately he doesn't have an answer, or at least not one Love will like.] Once something like this has begun, the only thing left is to see it to the end.
That's not a bad thing. You're all... People, with opinions. It makes sense you'd prefer some people over others.
It depends on what you think a good reason is. I think people have different opinions, you know? Some people might think their reasons are good while others disagree. It's one of those things you have to decide for yourself.
...my favorites are the people like you guys who've actually talked to us. It's harder when people come to us for favors or requests only but no other times.
The end's coming soon though, Sieg-kun. You can feel it, too, can't you?
...just some. Just the ones I've spoken to. It's a hard thing, deciding if they're right or not. I try not to judge them but at the same time...if it's not a good argument what can I do?
No...as gods, we're not allowed to interfere. We always know when people die and we always know who the culprits are. But there isn't anything we can do to punish them or anything like that.
...I want to find a way to make it possible for your guys to stay in touch. You shouldn't have to give up these bonds just because the game's over. But I think it'd take a lot of power.
Knowing everything that happened but not being able to do anything...Somehow that seems worse.
The person who wins... they'd get more power depending on how many people are with them at the end, right? We're all from such different places... it makes sense it would take a lot.
WEEK 6, SATURDAY
Sieg-kun?

Somehow... It feels worse every week.

[There's a moment's hesitation before he takes Love's hand.]
This has to be hard for you too.

Even though I'm used to wars like these, I would've preferred that. Getting to know you without the pressure of people dying every week.
I don't think the killing adds much.

Do you know why all of them killed? Or just some of them? ... You don't have to tell me what they were or anything.
... I'm going to miss a lot of people when it's over.
But it's also going to be a relief.

Are you looking forward to going back?

Part of me is, but another part of me wants to stay in contact with some people.

But yeah, that's right. That's why the numbers and the belief in what your god stands for are equally important.
