One day, the third son met with a prince from a foreign land who knew nothing of the country he was visiting except for the things he'd heard from his father. This prince had many dreams and wishes to accomplish in this land and chose the third son to be his guide to these wants. The son, though reluctant, met every wish though with the idea there would be political gain to accomplish. As time went on, the son grew frustrated by the prince's attitude, angry at the carefree way of living the prince carried through life and the apparent ease of which he would become the heir of his father's kingdom. Agitated that the prince wasn't taking his own role seriously, one day the son snapped when the prince made note that the son had given up so easily.
The son said: "It has nothing to do with me giving up or not…it’s just the way it has to be. You wouldn’t understand. Not as someone who has the natural privilege of a first born heir.” The prince corrected his mistake, but the son became more enraged. The son felt as though he had been lied to because the prince didn’t disclose everything, but rather kept the cards close to his chest and embraced everything with as much optimism as he could.
“If you’re so wonderful, then why don’t you work harder to be accepted? Why do you have such a defeatist attitude? You’re different from me. If you try hard enough, there’s no stopping you from rising to the top. Why can’t you comprehend how lucky you are?”
Though the prince deserved such an outburst, something troubled his heart as he looked into the eyes of the son. He said, “Who actually forbids you? If you can surpass expectations, then go ahead. You are the one who isn’t putting in enough effort. You are the one who’s giving up without a fight.”
The son couldn't refute the argument, and as he considered this prospect it became clear to both of them that they needed one another. The prince to help the son reach for his potential, and the son to protect the prince and follow through with his ideas, curbing them to ensure they were prosperous.
[Beauty stops pacing them, looking toward the window with his back to Ray.]
...even those in the most fortunate of situations need others, Ray-kun. I believe Senri-kun can learn to be more crafty and logical by befriending you, and I believe you can learn to become more than you are by befriending him, and others. But that's simply through observation.
[ray listens. with that said, when he sees where this is going, he begins to look increasingly annoyed.]

I think that's inaccurate. It's important to understand everyone, not just the people I "should" have in my world. And I'm afraid that no matter how nice I make a world, I can't make a person. It's all the more reason I wish to speak to as many as possible.
