Disorder's hint about Fortune's killer being a good actor. That implies it was someone taking an active part in "solving" Fortune's death—someone passively standing to the side isn't doing much acting.
Those who'd count, I'd say, are: Takaomi, Senri, Connor, Catra, Yu, maybe Mizuki, and Luna.
I'll give Takaomi the benefit of the doubt and say he wouldn't kill his friend, and Senri that he wouldn't kill his boyfriend's friend. Yu as well—he was willing to out his stupid ability this week to try and find Fortune's killer.
Then... if Connor really was Strung Red with Zoe, killing someone would be a risky move, as he wouldn't be able to hide any injuries on his own person. Catra's more uncertain, but... while I could easily see her killing, sending secret messages through Equivalent Exchange doesn't seem quite like her style. And Mizuki's with Beauty, who wasn't a suspect.
That leaves Luna. Who, curiously, only offered theories that were eventually deemed probably false, but on the other hand was more accurate with all the other deaths.
She was also one of the people who talked to Ambition about Fortune's killer still being loose.
You've really thought this through. [That's impressive, and Merriment balances on his chair as he sorts through all of that.]
You know I can't tell you guys who actually killed Fortune. It's against our rules. But keep thinking on it, you're not on a bad track. Next question, what makes you sure Luna's changed alignments at all?
If Ai's wound is any indication, Fortune's killer was with Ruin. While that isn't necessarily the case, there's no obvious benefit to claiming credit for Fortune's death.
And the fact remains that Ruin's last ex-follower has demonstrated a likely pattern of disturbing messages. [...] While any of the do-gooders here can lie, obviously, Luna's always seemed... off. Hard to read. Not necessarily the nicest person either, and someone I could picture doing cryptic crap.
Not to mention I don't believe she was really under the influence of an ability that week, unlike Estelle. Estelle had been yelling about Sasuke and Justice all week; I hadn't seen any indication of Luna being affected until that trial, after Estelle was already acting up.
If she was lying, that doesn't paint a good picture for her.
[...]
In any case, that's to say she could very well have been with Ruin.
Obviously there's no benefit to claiming credit for the death of a god, but what do you think happens when one of us is killed, Ray?
[Anyway.] You sure that's not just because she's a robot? She seemed pretty stiff and calculative to me when she visited my wing but I wasn't sure what to make of that either. I wouldn't put it past her to be capable of something like that, but I haven't observed her as much as I should.
[There's a pause as he thinks.] There're other ways to take her out of play on a Thursday without killing her. But that's if you're smart enough to think about it and figure it out. Like I said, my advice is to really look at everything you know first before you go through with anything.
... I'll be discussing my suspicions with a few people first, then. [or rather jan already has, so too late for take-backs.] The ideal situation would be, if she's guilty, for her to be caught in the trial.
That's all I want to hear. If you have another route later, you can come back and we'll check on that. [Why is he being so nice about this? It's fine.]
The catch for this consultation is...[Uh.] ...you bake, right? Bring me a dozen sugar cookies and we'll call it even.
[He's not really sure he wants to explain the other part either so lmao.] And before you ask, all of us only have one specific godly specialty, so don't bother going around asking the others.
[A hand comes up to rub at the back of his neck.] Trust me, nobody hopes for that more than me. There's a lot of problems with the way this game's designed. I wish we could help you guys more, but that's apparently cheating.

That's reason one, and the main one.
