Usually when Jack has time on his hands, he checks in with the younger gods. Ion, bless him, was entertaining audiences with some of his patrons, but Q was just as highly ranked on Jack's list. It's why he slips his way into the computer lab later, venturing over to a specific computer to key in a combo and allow himself into Q's chambers.
On the other hand, at least he knocks and leans against the doorway, arms folded over his chest and bare feet planted on the ground.]
Hey kiddo. You in?
[In his own room, especially with how awkwardly his mask fits over his already abysmal face situation, it's much easier to do without. He stands staring at the wall facing the lab, where so many competitors had been thrilled to tinker and explore.
Such creativity, it's almost frightening that Q's own room is...nothing but blank, white walls. A cube of absent thought.]
Have you seen all of them? There are so, so many--do you think they're friendly? Do you think they'll like us? I don't want...I hope I don't scare them.
Man, this room is depressing. He's going to have to see if they can fix that later.]
I don't know if you'll be able to. If anyone scares them off, it's gonna be Regina or Alice. [There's an easy-going grin, easily teasing the two girls who aren't even close enough to throttle him.] Plenty of them seem friendly though. They've been getting the hang of things and helping each other out. But all forty of them are here. I counted myself this morning.
[Alice and Regina are both so pretty, even if they're kind of scary. Q knows that he, well, it's hard to look at him, and not in the same way that Jack's struggling with.]
I want to make a good impression. Some of them are already getting called for council, I hope we do too.
[He finally swings his circle-eyed gaze away from the wall and bounds over, hands grasped at the sides of his helmet.]
I don't know if I've ever been some place with so many people all at once! I'm really excited to host...are you?
You're gonna make an awesome impression. [Q bounds over and Jack realizes he's really tall so he crouches down just a bit to be more at Q's eyelevel. Helmet-level. Whatever.] And don't worry about not being called yet. Give them time to get used to this place.
[But. Ah. Mm. That question! That question? He's not so sure he feels like confiding some of his own insecurities, but on the other hand...Q might be one of the best people to understand.] I haven't decided yet. I've never been in a place where so many people can see me.
They will, you know. They'll see you, I know it! I don't know how anyone couldn't, because you're the best person I've ever met before, and your whole team is going to be so happy!
[Meanwhile...Chloé never was any good at respecting anybody's personal space, so she just barges right into Luke's room. She registers that Regina is already there (good, she doesn't have to go track her down too) and launches right into it.]
Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous! Those idiots are getting offerings already. What are our followers doing?
Edited 2019-02-17 11:33 (UTC)
Regina crosses her arms.]
Idiots is right. Apparently one of my followers is already talking about defecting and the twerp hasn't even bothered to say hello. How's that for gratitude?
Edited 2019-02-17 11:37 (UTC)
Wellll right now my team's pretty small. Just two of them. I hope I can make them happy.
[Because...well, Jack knows what it means if either of them lose all of their followers and while he wouldn't mind so much if it meant saving one of the kids, he'd rather not risk it.] They're going to love you. Especially when they get to talk to you. And who knows? We might get to host soon instead of letting Catherine run the show.
[Q thinks that if he gets more followers, maybe he could ask some of them to join Jack's team. He'd want it--he wants all of his friends to stay in the contest as long as possible. Because that way no matter who ended up winning, they wouldn't have to feel regretful.]
They all seem to really like her...she acts pretty different when she's wearing her mask.
And I'm pretty sure one of mine is too busy playing with a cat to notice where he is. You'd think they'd wanna pay attention to what's going on around here instead of goofing off.
Edited 2019-02-17 11:45 (UTC)
You noticed too? [He's not really happy with that fact, and it's even worse that Q's observed it, too.] What kind of game do you think she's playing?
Ugh, if he actually does that you should curse him.[This is it, this is how this trip loses all of their followers. Which is fair. Their followers deserve better.
Doesn't stop her from being bitter, though.]
I think there's something about cats that makes people stupider. You should have seen this total moron from back home.

[Resigning herself to the fact that this is now just going to be an Extended Family Meeting, Regina lounges herself across whatever kind of furnishings Luke has in his room. She's absolutely just making herself at home, it's fine.]
It's too bad it wasn't a dog. Dog people are so easy to deal with. A little affection and they're wrapped around your finger no matter how many times you kick them.
[Jesus.]
Come on, don't plan on cursing him yet. Give me a few days and I'll come up with something good. [A smirk follows.] You're not entirely wrong though. Look at Tamaki.
[But back to the problem at hand.] So what I'm hearing is we need to make them pay attention. Any ideas?
[I mean, she has absolutely looked at Tamaki, and it's a shame. How can someone so pretty be so dumb? ...then again, Kuranosuke is the same way.She laughs as she pulls up a chair. It's cruel and biting, because she's definitely laughing at Tamaki's expense, but she's pretty sure Luke and Regina won't mind.]
What, to make them take notice? We're going to have to figure out how to get around Catherine to do that. Her "I'm such a nice neutral party" act is making me sick.

How do you feel about staging a coup?
Is this about that ridiculous poet? [She doesn't look impressed.]
I don't get what that idiot is so excited about anyway. His stupid poem doesn't even rhyme.
I am always up for something like that, but what ridiculous poet are we talking about? [There's a sly grin to Regina.] Trouble in paradise?
[She throws her mask onto his bed before sliding over to him and gripping her sharp nails into his shoulders.]
Chuuya Nakahara. It was bad enough he announced his defection before so much as giving a simple hello, but then he openly mocks me?
[Regina stands up straighter, glancing back at Chloe.]
But it isn't just him. Sincerity deserves a little taste of humiliation. I think it would be healthy for him.
[Of course, she just straight up follows that up with:]
I want that entire team destroyed.
[On the one hand, Kuranosuke probably did her hair once and it turned out fabulous. On the other, who even cares? Regina is basically like her mom, but younger and cooler - and Chloé wants her to like her. So, bye, Kuranosuke. Maybe she'll raid your closet once you're dead.]
You're so right. He needs to learn his place. [Jesus.] One of mine is completely useless, but I bet I can get the others to do something. Who should we start with?
[Unfortunately, Sincerity's team is full of people who are generally likable. It's a problem.
Too bad they can't just smite them themselves.]
Edited 2019-02-19 08:10 (UTC)
You gotta remember that he's got more people on his team than any of us. [There's a nod to Chloe.] Right now you have the most of the three of us. Even if they're useless, we could either stage a coup or start poaching his followers. Have either of you talked to any of them?
[Likable or not, that just means they're easier to manipulate later.]
[Mercifully, she releases Luke from her clawed grasp and folds her arms over her chest, pacing slowly around the room. Say what you want about her attitude, but that devious look in her eye is anything but stupid.]
Not Chuuya. Oh, he's going to die, but not right away. It would be too obvious if we went after him first. We whittle the numbers down, take the rest for ourselves. Anyone who would be endeared to the youngest of us may be willing to switch to you, Chloe, if they felt they could protect you. That could be Jude Mathis.
[She pauses, tapping a foot, thinking over what she knows. Her target is tough, but she always, always, always gets what she wants. This isn't going to different, and she won't stop until her wish is her reality.]
I might be able to take Estelle or Madoka or Senri. They seem like the kind of bleeding hearts that would eat up any kind of self-piteous drivel. Luke, what do you think about Gau? I'm not sure what to do with...that.
I guess I can go after Jude. He's not completely unfortunate looking. [Why is she like this? Literally, why. But before Luke can answer - she wrinkles her nose. Someone, apparently, is not a fan of feral children.]
Let him stay with that idiot. It's what he deserves.

Luke? If it isn't too much trouble, may I possibly borrow you up here for a moment?
