[For once, Piety isn't in the private study. Instead, Takaomi finds him in the Parlor, playing a soft and melancholic melody on the piano. As the song ends, he turns on the bench to greet his visitor.]
I hope you don't mind a change of pace from me...I just felt like stretching a little. Thank you so much for the offering, it was thoughtful of you.
[The question seems to confuse Piety at first, but then after contemplating, presents an answer.]
I suppose you could say that my specialty is...a sort of moral understanding of others. I've always been able to read people very well, even for qualities that are otherwise unseen. I can understand the intention behind actions or words that are otherwise baffling or seemingly reprehensible.
Morality generally is. It's not something that can particularly be defined...but...
[Piety tries to think of how to be more helpful with his phrasing.]
When I give my thoughts about someone or something...I don't tend to be wrong. It's not factual truth, but a different kind of insight that could be helpful. At least, I hope it would be.
[Piety takes a deep, slow breath, letting it exhale slowly.]
Someone who lets her more overbearing, negative traits dictate her thoughts and actions because the alternative is to give in to feelings of insecurity and lack of worth. A troubled heart that's been hurt in the past, and has only ever had experience understanding power or fear to overcome it. She's not so young that she hasn't had time to build herself up in negativity, but not so old that she isn't capable of changing.
[Just a quick breather.]
Much of the perceptions that she loathes are the same ones who has made her who she is. A person who wants to become something better, but is too afraid of failure to admit when she may need help. Any self-perceived weaknesses she expects will result in betrayal and undue criticism. I believe that she's difficult to reach and persuade, but not impossible. Although, ultimately, as she is now, she only has her best interests in mind and therefore wouldn't be an ideal ruler, still possesses certain qualities that lend strength in a position of leadership.
WEEK 3
I hope you don't mind a change of pace from me...I just felt like stretching a little. Thank you so much for the offering, it was thoughtful of you.
[And cute and delicious!!!]

It was nothing. [ ... ] You play often?
no subject
[Will never stop embarrassing you, Taka. Never!!]

[ ... ]
Just piano?
no subject
[But the piano is what's here, so...]
Even if it's a little on the nose.
no subject
You're good though.

[Piety can't help sounding a little sheepish.]
Did you have any questions for me, today?
no subject
Would you mind telling me what your skill is?

You have another weird, vague one.

[Oh...]
I'm sorry.

[Piety has to pause, trying to figure out the best way to give a direct example.]
Well, let's see...give me one of the gods that you've learned about, and tell me what the overall impression that you've gotten of them is?

he's seen her face ]

Wow. You really are thorough.
no subject
Sorry...I thought I should try to give as good of an example as I can. I guess I was a bit long-winded.

You made your point pretty well with it.
