...thanks. Pretty sure the whole point was always to be better.
Anyway, now you know why I supported the killing game from the start, but with the revival caveat. If we'd had more time, maybe I would've thought it through better, but whatever. You guys still have the chance to prove me right. That it's optional.
... at the start, I thought no one would do it, but for reasons different than I'm hoping now. The people where I live are fucking weird, but my life is generally normal in comparison, so I was assuming that people would try to resolve this game in a different way.
[ he sighs ]
And after the first death, I figured everyone would start killing because the people here are different from us.
...I'm from a world where people like me die pretty young, which probably didn't help my decision in backing Ruin's idea. But at the same time? I wanted to see what would happen. I had hopes that maybe you guys wouldn't, and then maybe that you'd find a way to break the cycle.
But you're right. You're very normal by comparison. I'm surprised you answered the call.
See, the reason I want to win top seat is because I need information and resources. I'll have access to things I would never be able to get my hands on otherwise.
... because there's this unresolved case I need to make sure gets solved. And this competition could have made me able to without having to wait.
...so that's what it is, huh. [That actually makes sense to him.] Sucks to be in the dark like that. What happens if you don't get the information from winning this game? How're you going to get it?
I'll have to do it through school's competition. It's just... whether I win that or not depends on the student body voting, so I have to impress hundreds and hundreds of people in order to win that.
I'll take your word for it. I stopped attending school after I ran away and I was always one of the oldest at Camp anyway. But I'm just saying...you've got skills here. Just apply them there to make people listen.
... Senri tried switching dorms a lot. There's two for the special class, black and white, and we're in the black dorm but he wanted to be in white really badly.
Well... black dorm has more eccentric members, I guess. The dorm head is more strict and our group activities aren't as cutesy or nice as the white dorm ones are. Plus, Touji and Yuma are in white dorm, so he'd want to be with them.
[ which taka doesn't blame him for considering those two are taka's only two friends he made in like ten goddamn months at that school. ]
Plus, if he switched dorms then he would have to deal with me less since I'd still be in black.
...so what you're saying is it's a bunch of really stupid reasons. [He's not impressed.] Kinda like running away from a challenge. Think that's why he can't switch?
[Whatever, it's weird.] ...Camp had us separated by who our godly parents were. But our cabin housed everybody who was either a Hermes kid, had a godly parent who wasn't recognized as one of the Olympians, or went unclaimed. That place got cramped really fast. We didn't exactly have the luxury to swap around.
... so even though there's a shit ton of gods, if they weren't one of the major ones they didn't matter?
[ taka does not approve of starting an entire war and trying to bring back an evil titan but, he can understand why luke was not very happy with how things were running.
but to answer the other question: ]
The only way they'd allow a switch is under special circumstances. I know two of our senpai were roommates last year, but it seems like something happened between them so that now they're not...? [ taka does not know and he does not care ] And one time Senri spun this sob story to try to convince the nicer dorm leader to let him into the other dorm, but then they found out he was lying so it didn't work.
Pretty much, yeah. Camp only honored the main Olympians and the whole thing was kind of bullshit. [He shakes his head.] ...if the kid did what I asked him to, that might change. I'm just never gonna know about it.
[There's a soft smirk though.] Given how things turned out, you think he's done trying to switch dorms now?
[There's a little pause.] ...he's good enough, I guess.
[There's a smirk though at that reaction.] And you'd go and there wouldn't be a problem anyway. [...] It's...not always a bad thing to follow people who want you. Think on that for a while.
