GODLY AUDIENCES - ZOE MURPHY

So...so I thought I had amnesia. It's a really complicated situation. I didn't have any memories, and I only knew things like how old I am and my name. But then, right before I became a god, I found out that someone created me, and activated me with pre-programmed information.

[Which means, of course:]

I was never human.

...Jesus.

[It's soft and surprised, but she continues on.]

That must've sucked. I'm sorry.

It's okay...I've kind of gotten used to it now. It's just that I'm still learning so much about everything, even myself.

[Justice's mask is tilted firmly downward, unwilling to look up and meet her gaze.]

I'm afraid that if anyone sees what I look like, they'll think I'm just a freak.

[She frowns at that, deeply sympathetic.]

...I know you can't take it off, so I won't ask you to, but I bet you don't look like a freak.

I'm not sure you'd still feel that way if you could see for yourself, but...thank you for saying so, anyway. It makes me feel a little bit better.

[Finally, Justice looks back up at Zoe again.]

Kind of like I have friends! Real friends.
