It's not quite so simple. The only people who could be brought forward were those who were willing to accept our invitation to compete. Those who had something to fight for, whether or not they knew it. We simply sent out the call...and you were the ones who answered. From that pool of champions, we each put bids in against one another in order to offer our patronage to a certain number of you. That way, each of us had an equal chance of starting with an even number.

Just belief. My name, unfortunately, holds such a strong connotation with religion that I think others are hesitant to speak with me, let alone switch, but my feelings extend to beliefs of all kinds. When I was still a mortal, my belief was always in that of humanity: their capacity to learn and grow, their compassion...and those traits that I would see in those closest to me, above all.
