Honestly? One of us with the less-than-perfect name. Do you know how hard it is to get people to actually form opinions outside of whatever name we're aligned with?

From the first couple of trials... Pretty hard. First impressions are hard to break, even fake ones.

[ She clasps her hands behind her back. ]

Disorder's rule is a very good play.

Disorder's one of the smartest girls I've ever met in that she knows exactly what she wants and how to play it. She recognized the problem way before anybody else and made a solution. [Proud boyfriend? Proud boyfriend.] How're we supposed to appeal ourselves if people aren't going to bother coming to see us? Harder than it looks.

[ That's cute. If only Nonon could care enough to ship them. ]

Hmm~ How long have you two been dating?

[ She could be asking useful questions, but is she? ]

A little after the ascension? I never had time to date before that and it's still an adjustment period.

[See: Cunning probably wouldn't have called himself a boyfriend unless Disorder did first.]

That's cute. Your first date is as a god.

[ She feels like that could be a sitcom. ]

Would you believe me if I said it's because this is the first time I can actually relax? [And yet here they are. He apparently doesn't care about Nonon being like this, it's better than asking real questions.]

This is supposed to relaxing to you? [ Her eyebrows raise. ] Well, I don't know what your life was like before, so I guess I don't have any real reason not to.

[ Outside of being contrary. ]

At least I know what's going on and I'll know if something's coming after me. Besides, the temple's a little nicer than what I left behind. I can't complain too much.

[ ... ]

You must have had some kind of terrible life before here. That's kind of....

[ It sounds like there was a very low bar set by Cunning's past life. ]

Not what you expected? Let me guess. The other gods made their lives sound a lot better.

[Cunning has a lot of feelings about his past life, apparently.]

Well, not all of them have talked about their past lives, but they don't usually outright say, "My life sucked."

[ She can tell that maybe Cunning has a lot of negative feelings about his past, yeah. ]

You've been the most forthright about it even if you haven't given any details.

There's the whole rule about not giving out too much info too fast because people blab too much, but I guess my life has enough detail to it that even saying "it sucked" doesn't count as a spoiler. [His mask is in the way, but he's rolling his eyes.]

And anyway when I used to tell people about my life, they didn't believe me. So that's probably part of it, too.

Real life can be stranger than fiction. I'm sure if more people knew about what I was doing back home, they'd think my life is ridiculous, but it doesn't make it any less true.

[ She shrugs. ]

But your life must have really sucked.

[What if he sidesteps that and focuses on what she's said?]

What about your life back home would count as ridiculous, exactly? Call me curious.

[ She'll allow it, but don't regret this sidestep. ]

Clothing vore.

[...he just starts snickering.]

Okay wait, tell me that's exactly what I think it is. Seriously?

Yeah. Clothes eat you whole. They're aliens that come to eat all life on your planet, so they can explode and eat other things in space.

[ It's a real life-threatening thing that Nonon thinks she's going to die from, but away from it all and from the outside looking in, she knows it sounds stupid. ]

Where'd they even come from? I mean they're aliens, so outer space is likely, but how are they getting around to new planets?

[ Some of Nonon's nonchalance fades. ]

Humans are their energy source, so once they consume enough, they can expand and cover the entire planet. Then, they... kind of consume the planet and make it explode, and with that energy, they travel to next planet with life that fits their diet.

[ She crosses her arms. ]

It's really stupid.

...sounds pretty stupid but also sort of familiar. [Oh?] We didn't have clothing vore, but a lot of us spent our entire lives being chased down by monsters. It was kind of like being born as bait if we didn't learn to defend ourselves, and fast.

Huh. Wow, yeah, your life really sucked. [ Sorry. Yikes. ] We at least had some time to prepare for our monsters before they started chasing us down.

[ Was it enough time? She doesn't know yet. ]

Tell me about it. Or, like, don't. I already lived it and I don't need to relive it. I'm over it. The next world's not gonna have to worry about that if I can help it.

Tell me about that, then. The world you want to build.

The next world...it's gotta be a world where people are actually going to listen. You know what the most annoying and frustrating thing in the world is? Being ignored. Especially when you're asking for help. I'm not doing that. I'm not letting the world operate where people are ignored and forgotten out of negligence. I want a world that's fair and where work is acknowledge and rewards are given based on your own merit. And where respect's earned, not just given out to people because of who or what they are.

Everyone seems to think I'm really harsh, and maybe that's true, but at least I can say I've been upfront and honest about my expectations this whole game. If the next world is anything like what I'm planning, it'll be balanced and people will stand a fighting chance.
