I was more curious about the motivations of my fellow competitors. I would greatly dislike for an unforeseen circumstance to get in the way of victory...

You should expect someone to do something like that every week. [Fortune sounds very frustrated by that.] That's how it's going to go. The other gods made sure of it, before all of this started.

Hmm, I suppose I can see why one might come to that conclusion in a game of numbers. Seems a bit too risky for my preference, honestly.

And if they can't convince someone to finish off another?

But not necessarily on a killing to risk elimination in the contest. Surely there's a contingency plan?

This entire contest is decided by all of your actions. We can't force you all to do anything. All we can do is ask.

I suppose that's reassuring. Particularly for anyone who should be defecting from a faction.

There wouldn't be any point in allowing the possibility of defecting if only a few of you were able to do it.

And those with less foresight won't have to concern themselves with immediate retribution.

...Although, in a game where numbers matter, I suspect you'd prefer to keep the losses to a minimum in case someone rethinks their decision.

I can't speak for any of the others, but I know I'm playing to try and keep this as bloodless as possible.

That's fair. Funny though, you obviously couldn't decide a leader by election, but when arranging a game to do so, you made the rules by vote...

I'm merely describing the situation as I see it. Obviously it speaks more of the majority than anything else.
