[Julius will find fortune just past the entrance to the east wing. They're staring up at the city lights as he passes through the entryway, the flowers from his offering in one hand.]
I did, yes. Glad you could spare the time. I had a few other ideas of what to give, but I wasn't inclined on stepping over any lines so soon in the game.
[ what do people have against take out or just grabbing some cards for entertainment on the go, smh
in any case, he notices where their gaze is angled- at least generally, anyway, given the mask and all. his head tilts a little, hand coming to his chin in slight curiosity. ]
You probably would have had an even harder time believing the sight of Trigleph, then. It's even bigger than this...
[ He waves his hand to the surrounding area. What should he call it, anyway? A reflection? Fragment? Bubble? Recreation? The setting implies a larger city, a bigger world, but no matter what they do they're redirected to the same few places. ]
Well, whatever it is.
[ There's enough Rieze Maxians who go through culture shock at the sight of Elympios in general, so Fortune's general air is probably somewhat familiar to Julius. He does tilt his head to examine them a little more appraisingly, though. ]
Oh, I've seen big cities before. T-- [Fortune starts to say something, but goes silent with a strangled little yelp; apparently, that's a magical "shut the fuck up, Fortune"]
...I spent a lot of time in a huge city, before I ascended. But... the architecture wasn't like this, and they didn't use electricity to power things. We got all of our lights from torches and candles, that sort of thing.
It seems like it would have been quite the sight, all the same. Perhaps more sustainable than Elympios' cities, really... Ah, but that's neither here nor there.
[ a musing hum ]
Are you all right, though? That didn't seem all too comfortable, I mean. Are there things we aren't allowed to ask you about?
Asking about those things it's fine. It's the timing that's a little off. The more you get to know us, the more we'll be allowed to say... we're just not allowed to share everything about ourselves at once.
Some of us have more... sympathetic backgrounds than others. This is supposed to start us all on an even playing field, or something.
Prolonging a sense of mystery, then. Fair enough, though you'd think that in a competition to determine the best or most suited of you, cards like that would be on the table sooner...
[ ... ]
So then. What made you, specifically, extend an offer to me of all people anyway?
WEEK 1
Oh... hi! So, you wanted to talk?
TIME TO FINALLY BACKTAG

Familiar sight to you?

There were cities where I came from, but... nothing like this. I know it's real, but it's still very hard to believe.

[well,]
You seemed like you could use some good luck.

Luck has never really been a word you could describe my family with, I'd think...
[ so. thanks??? ]
The sentiment is appreciated though, Fortune. [ ... ] Were you the ones who chose your names?

she shakes her head, though.]
Not... exactly. We ascended, and we just knew that... these are our names now.
I SAID I'D DO IT BRITT
Are they traits that were important to each of you, somehow, or do you think they might have been closer to things that you embodied?
