Yes, but even while working together...some of us work better together than others, I'm afraid. This competition will help us determine who will and won't have a higher influence on this world.

Your inscription didn't tell me much. What's your favorite thing in the world? [What a broad question.]

Um... My friends and family.

I came up with some but not the others. [i.e. not people who aren't their followers, it seems. It's a vague question and that's maybe a vague answer but something about it seems to resonate with Beauty anyway.]

Can you tell me about them? [I'm so sorry Cola, this particular thing is an absolute interest to this god.]

Sure. It makes me happy to talk about them.

My Mama is a really cool, hard-working business woman! And Papa is a house husband, and he likes gardening and cooking.

Then there's my little brother, Tatsuya. He's only three, but he's so energetic and fun to play with. We still get to play together, even now. He can still see me, but I don't know how long that'll last, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

[All the while that Madoka's talking about this, Beauty continues to remain perched in their chair, hand cupping their chin and listening with rapt attention. It sounds nice, they think, having a whole little family that can spend time with one another.]

It sounds lovely. A family bond like no other...[But.] What do you mean you don't know how long it'll last that your brother can see you?

Ah... Well, I exist outside of time and space. I exist in many places at once. It's - a paradox. I made a wish, and it sort of... Removed me from the universe. Past, present, and future.

Tatsuya can still see me, but I think it's just because he's too little to know better.

Besides him and Homura-chan, no one else remembers me at all.

...then what is it you're going back to, Madoka-chan? What sort of wish would cause such a thing?

My duty is to erase all witches before they are born. That was my wish, and I need to fulfill it.

Witches? [Beauty is thinking of the wrong kind of witches, oops.] What was so bad about them?

In my world, they're monsters that are born from the despair of magical girls - they exist to spread curses and hurt people.

[ Yeah it makes sense that the meaning isn't universally the same. Checks out!! ]

[Things Beauty doesn't say out loud, thank god: "Manga??" because this definitely sounds like a manga plot.]

I see. You're quite young to take that responsibility, aren't you. [Not judging, just observing.] You're not doing this alone, are you?

Oh, but, um - there are lots of other magical girls who still have to fight hard. I'm just the only one who takes care of witches...

...and what is it that you truly wish for in this competition should your patron win?

To reduce the entropy of the universe.

I'd like it if I could gather the emotional energy that was created by this contest, so that it doesn't go to waste.

...Sincerity is an excellent choice for you. I myself am also an excellent choice, and I believe either one of us can help you reach that goal.

I also want to do my best to make your contest end well.

Even if it isn't in my favor, I'd like it if people didn't have to suffer too much, and if the world you make is a good one.

Most of us do, I think. [They sound amused.] Spread that message and wish to as many people as possible in our time here. Gods and people alike. It's the only way to ensure a good end.

Um... What do you mean?

[ If most of them want to make it end well... Why does it sound like there's only one good ending...? Everyone has different ideas about what the best 'new world' would be like, so just wanting the 'best world' won't necessarily bring people together. :( ]

[They hold up their hands.]

In life, there are several choices you can make and several ways to reach happiness. However, here, we can only select one option...that doesn't mean that the option is already set in stone.

[i.e. Beauty thinks that with enough time, maybe some of the gods will change their minds of what they want.]
