[Hello friends, how are we doing? Poorly? It should be zero surprise that one (1) winter spirit turned god is yeeting himself across the temple and seems to be flying as he divebombs straight into the strawberry patch where the two of them are. Thursday had made him nervous, and he'd kept an eye on what was going on, so as soon as they were alone he made his way over as quickly as possible.
[but his voice is strained, he's pale, and he is clearly not in great shape. for one thing, he's lost his shirt and has a number of bruises with some bleeding; his left arm is not at the correct angle, probably; also, that arm kind of
ends, at the wrist.
that's the largest problem. they've probably gotten it tied off pretty quickly to avoid bleeding out, but adrenaline does Not stop this from being a really terrible experience. he has not bothered trying to get up.]
Shishimaru, would you...
[please explain further, taka, you're in better shape for it.]
[ takaomi, at least, is in much better shape other than he's probably covered in ishi's blood? his only real injury from the ordeal isn't life threatening even if it hurts. so, yeah, could have been two people missing limbs. ]
It was Luna! She-- she's dead. She attacked Ruin, and then us, and Ishikirimaru got her--
Okay, okay, hold on. [It's placating to get Taka to slow down so he can process that information but also Ishi sure does look pretty bad off. He's astonished, and a little horrified, but.]
...I don't...we need to set your arm, make sure the bleeding stops, find a doctor when everybody else wakes up. [A hand runs through his hair, frustrated and also suddenly alarmed.]
So she went after Ruin. [He knows when people die thanks to being a god, but what the hell.] Slow down and tell me what happened. [...wait.] ...you guys killed her?
[Like. Normally he'd be very against that but also he has a traumatized fav and a handless fav and Jack can only just be glad that's all.] Where's Ruin?
[even now, he's thinking ahead to that, trying to run through who they could trust for help when they are definitely going to have to have an explanation for this.
he takes in a shaky breath and slowly exhales-- he's likely leaning on taka a bit, here.]
Ruin... ran after we interfered. I don't know where. But Luna, she-
[his remaining hand clenches, and there's still a spark of leftover anger in his tone when he continues.]
[ he glances at ishikirimaru, but he can't keep his gaze on him long enough without having to look away. it... probably wouldn't have been this bad if he wasn't here.
... ]
I guess Ray was right in thinking she was suspicious...
Yeah...he came to me, too. And I told him to think about it, so I guess he went to you guys.
[There's a wince when he hears Ishi's breathing and he shakes his head.] We have to get you both back to the temple. Can you walk? [He can also be a crutch, but. There's a lot of blood and this is bad all around. In the end though...]
I'll check on Ruin later, but...thank you, Ishi. [Even if you lost a hand.] We just need to figure out how to explain why Luna's dead. You know what this means, right?
... I know. I'm not sure you should-- be thanking me for anything.
[that comes with a shake of his head. this is going to be difficult to try to hide, hard to explain, harder still to get away with unless things are a bigger mess than usual. even then, he isn't sure he wants to get away with having killed.
he'll go ahead and try to push himself to his feet, there, using his sword to help, but when he tries stepping forward and puts any weight on his right side-- he very nearly drops again, stifling a pained sound. looks like it's not just the arm.]
[Ishi stumbles and Jack immediately dashes over to help support the other side.]
It's gonna have to be. [Grim. He's shifting to take half of the weight so Taka doesn't tip over from a giant sword, but it's going to be a long journey back.] Mind explaining what else she did to you?
[He's. Mad. But that's only at Luna and she's dead so...yeah don't ask Jack, he's not always a nice person.]
[there are a lot of things that hurt right now, and they're starting to blur together into one large instance of pain-- still worst in his arm and hip, but he takes another steadying breath.]
I just wasn't... expecting it. I can make it.
[and in true ishi fashion, he's doing his best to ignore the pain and just press forward. if he passes out he's not sure the two of them can carry him, so he's just going to have to stay conscious and keep going.]
[ she kept trying to aim at taka, and it kept slowing ishikirimaru down. and she did it on purpose, knowing he'd react that way.
...
but it's time for them to move, because there might still potentially be killers roaming around, and it's best for them to get out of the way as soon as possible. jack still isn't allowed to interfere, and takaomi isn't sure if he'd be able to protect ishi if someone as skilled as luna comes after them. ]
...the only thing I can do is ice it. [Which might help, but it doesn't help now and Jack's mostly annoyed that as a god he has to be hands off.] Pretty sure she wasn't expecting you two either.
[He's taking a step forward to start moving them.] The cabins are close enough. We should be okay if we stick to one of those. [And then they can actually discuss what the hell to do next.]
[he falls silent there, though, his efforts focused on getting to their destination; it takes more concentration than he'd like, and it's slow, but he's still making an attempt to push through and to lean on them as little as possible.]
[ it takes them a lot longer than taka would like, but eventually they reach the cabins. taka lets go of ishi enough so that he can peek his head into them until he finds an empty one that they can get into.
[He doesn't speak as they walk, and eventually they haul Ishi onto a bed and Jack's just going to look around for anything useful.] The good thing is you didn't pass out from shock, so that's a start.
Where else did she attack you? [He's approaching the bed again and just kind of crouching to be at eye level.]
I've read about this kind of thing, but I've never actually...
[ takaomi is a very good student who reads a lot but that's not the same as doing things in practice? so, in theory, he knows how to tend to a broken arm. ]
Do you know of anything that might help until curfew ends?
...we can try setting it. I've seen it enough times from people breaking limbs on the ice, but I can't guarantee it'll be a perfect set. It's better than nothing, and if they're all outer injuries that's better. We'll clean the blood off, check for bruising, see if we can get some swelling to go down. That's all I can really think of.
[Jack hasn't exactly been human for a long time either but he can figure out enough.] I'll just need an extra set of hands and supplies.
I don't think that-- it will heal enough by morning that it cannot be set again, if need be. Go ahead.
[he is definitely starting to mumble slightly, though, because now that he's somewhere safe and lying down-- passing out is quickly becoming all he really wants to do, much as he knows that setting the bones will likely jolt him awake again with adrenaline.
or maybe the pain will leave him unconscious, and he might not mind, honestly.
ishi does manage to add:]
After that, if you can-- find any sort of painkiller... sedative, even-- it would be appreciated.
[he doesn't think he's going to do much sleeping otherwise, even if he does manage to pass out.]
[even in this state, there's concern for taka in his voice, but once he's gone-- ishi exhales, focusing on jack's question. based on where they'd come from and the way they'd seen her go...
he's gesturing in the right direction bc i do not specifically know yet but he would.]
That direction.
[his hand drops, and while taka's out of earshot he adds, quietly:]
... I'm sorry. I kept him from being-- hurt much, but I-- should not have let him be involved in this.
[not after he's seen so much already, not when it was far from a clean fight. especially not after everything else that happened this week that we've been finding out after planning this bc holy shit, guys.]
You say that like he wouldn't have followed you anyway. Taka's just like that. I asked him a while ago if he'd consider switching powers. You can guess what the answer was.
[He should maybe be concerned about Ruin, but....nah.] You did what you could and I'm grateful for that. I'm just sorry I couldn't have stopped it before either of you got hurt. We have to let things play out the way they're supposed to. That's the one bad part about this job.
...he'll be alright. He's a strong kid and you will be fine, too, once we get all of this taken care of. [Hopefully? It's occurred to Jack he's going to have to instruct a 15 year old about medical procedures but that's fine.]
WEEK 4, THURSDAY CURFEW
Gods can't interfere, after all.]
