why does senri find this endearing... dammit... he's just going to laugh and tag along, heading off to their designated horses and then he'll only let go of tamaki's hand for a second just to get on his.]

What are you thinking? Horses and hot air balloons?

Ah! That's a secret, mon ami. But a fairy tale would be pretty fun, wouldn't it? Dancing and music and magic...happy endings. [He's settled on his horse and the carousel begins.] Even if it's just for a week, I think people may like that.

[ . . . .and senri just laughs a little at that - because of all things, he doesn't believe in happy endings. but.]

[this is horrible - and senri laughs even as their carousel brings them in circles]

Mm, i always like eating my favorite foods first - but I feel like it's always the last dance of the night that everyone remembers the most....

First and last...[They go in circles, horses "galloping" in time to cutesy music, and it makes him think for a moment.]

but he takes a second as they keep going around in circles before he shift to try to pull out his phone from his pocket]

Mm - Tamaki, let's take a picture?

Can you reach that far? [It's a valid question, but with their horses next to each other it might work out. Tamaki's also staring at Senri's phone because his timeline only has flip phones. Luckily he's not too distracted.] But alright.

[And maybe he just doesn't mind posing because that's just what Tamaki does, excited and earnest and eager all at once.]

Don't make fun of me just because some of us aren't ten feet tall.

but senri will adjust so that they're still at a super cute angle?? he'll flash a peace sign just as tamaki poses and he laughs -

Ah? I'm not making fun of you. [There's a playful smile though because he sort of is. It's adorable, let him live. Instead, he's going to mimic the pose because same energy and:]

It's very fitting of you, mon petit lapin. [There's probably a better way to say this in French, but this is all I remember so please have mercy.]

[senri sticks his tongue out at that - but also takes another picture because they're just cute so why not? he laughs even as he brings his phone back to a normal height and turns it so that tamaki can see them on the screen]

Instant...[Who doesn't have a smartphone? This guy!! His eyes widen as he reviews the pictures, smile growing even as the carousel continues spinning them around.]

The proof is in the photo, Senri-kun. Adorable. [Teasing? Flirting? Both? Neither? Help.]

though senri will just laugh at that and say with matching confidence - ]

I want a copy of those, you know. Something like this should be preserved forever. [The carousel slows and Tamaki blinks in surprise.]

[because that's cute... but as the carousel slows, senri laughs a little bit]

Well... It's almost time for the fireworks, right? We should get going to the ferris wheel anyway.

[fortune will die there later that night?]

I'm sure he'll allow it. [The ride stops and Tamaki waits before sliding off of the wooden horse and holding out an arm for Senri to take.]

To the ferris wheel! [So much for being a gentleman, but his eyes are bright and he's starting to lead anyway.] Do you suppose they'll let us stop at the top?

[he's so thoughtful and cute... senri's going to take his arm easily, laughing a little bit as they walk on over]

I don't see why not! For peak romance, it's practically required?

[Away they walk, and Tamaki eyes the ferris wheel before he nods assuredly.]

We'll time it just right and it will work out for us. That's how a dream date would go, isn't it? Stopped way up at the top against the sky overlooking the lights and the people, fireworks going off, away from anyone who could bother us...it's perfect. I can't wait.

[And into a line they go to get on this stupid ferris wheel, but it's still very empty.] I suppose we could also just go around a few times.

Ahaha, we'll have to see if luck is on our side.

[tHIS IS STILL SO BAD CONSIDERING FORTUNE,, but senri will hum happily the closer they get, watching the ferris wheel go around and around]

I won't mind if you want to ride it a few times - we still have some time before curfew, don't we?

We have a little bit of time, yes, though I'd rather make sure you're safe in the temple before curfew just in case. [Not that he wouldn't end up carrying Senri or something anyway, but details.] But it's time enough.

[The wheel goes round and round until it stops again and the ride operator ushers the two of them into their car to settle in. It's only when they're seated and the ride begins to move that Tamaki leans over to look down at the ground.]

...thank you, by the way. For coming with me this evening.

[senri is... opting to sit fairly close to tamaki - he's excited for the ride and everything, but he's still got some secondhand fear of heights. when tamaki thanks him, he glances over at him with a soft smile]

What are you saying? I'm the one who should be saying thanks.

I know you're going out of your way to entertain me by going along with this request but.... it's been really fun.

[it's been a really good dream.]

[It's an afterthought that has Tamaki loosely draping an arm around Senri's shoulders as he scoots closer, both because he doesn't want his arm pinned and to secure him.]

Am I? [Going out of his way. It's not what he thinks anyway.] While it may be my job as a host to do everything in my power to make my guests happy, it's my wish as a friend to experience something good with you. So I'm thanking you not for the company, but for the fun day and the memories. [There's a smile.] I'm glad we were able to live this dream.

[senri is easily content with this? he leans into tamaki's side, because it's fine, they're on a date and this is what people on dates do. there's still some weird embarrassed feeling in his chest as tamaki speaks, and senri wonders if this is where in shoujo mangas they would use all those sparkly textures and bubbles - ]

.... I definitely think we experienced something good. I'm glad that we got the chance to, even if it was just once.

[they rise higher and higher, further away from the ground, and senri doesn't find himself scared at all]

It's been a really fun date - picture perfect.

As long as you've enjoyed yourself then I'm satisfied. I have, too. [That's only said at the end before Senri can protest. They rise higher and higher, looping around once before rising again as the wheel starts to stop up toward the top.]

It's everything I could have wanted for this evening, really.

Everything? Really? We're not even at the grand finale yet.

[though that's only lightly teasing, since it seems like they'll be fast approaching as they inch closer and closer to the top. there's a breeze - not enough to rock their cart at all - but enough to get senri to remember his curse again as he presses closer to tamaki for warmth.]

he thinks again of how they'll only have one night like this, and he sighs]

I kind of wish we could get more time.
