Nobody decided it, mages aren't good at seeing future consequences. They leave it for others to deal with.

What's an Oracle?

The Chaldea Master and I did stop the turmoil within the grail, it shouldn't break apart anymore. I'm grateful that she heard my plea for help.

An Oracle's a spirit that predicts the future, to make it short and simple. There's a lot more to it including the intricacies of prophecies and whatever, but they deliver messages about what's going to happen in the future and leave everybody else to figure out how to deal with it.

But good on you for not letting things get too destroyed.

So a high level Clairvoyance like Merlin, Solomon and Gilgamesh have. ... They aren't always helpful about it, but I think that's just their personalities.

That's it, yeah. Where we're from, there are also people who are chosen to be the hosts of these Oracles. My mom tried a long time ago. It's a really powerful skill to have.

Even though it's not straightforward. [But he nods.] Permanent death means no longer existing. It's why a bunch of us added that clause in when we talked about making this a killing game. You're doing us a favor, so you deserve a second chance.

[He doesn't quite get it, but his version of these events are considerably more brutal.]

That's right. Think of this as one hell of a vacation. Not what you expected, but thanks for the memories anyway.

Considering I spend my life asleep, it's... nice to be around people again. Even if we do have a murder every week. [Multi murders]

You might be the only one to share that really unique point of view, man. But it's nice to be around people, sure. A few of you could stand to meet new people anyway. It's not so bad.

They'll come back, it's kinder than the version of this game that I know. And I don't have that many memories to begin with.

[He shakes his head.]

I did. You can think of it like I'm hibernating, waiting for somebody to find me. It's going to take a long time. My sleep isn't a curse or anything along those lines.

...where I'm from, if you die, you're dead. But for some people, you have the choice to come back in rebirth. But it means you lose all your memories and start over. Sound familiar?

[But that's weird.] But what happens if nobody ever finds you?

It sounds like how Heroic Spirits are supposed to work. [When they aren't weird outliers like Rulers or whatever the heck Sieg is anymore.]

I figured you'd get it. Eventually for us, if you die and are reborn and die a hero three times, you get access to ultimate paradise. Kind of stupid to think about now.

Why three?

There's a one in a trillion chance. She's not the kind of person who would ever give up.

Most important things where I come from come in threes. Three fates, three realms of the Underworld, the perfect number for quests is three...not totally sure why.

...sounds like a good friend to have around though if you can really trust her.

She is. Jeanne d'Arc is a great friend.

...do you mean Joan of Arc? [He's from America and he went to school for. A little while.] Didn't she burn or something?

For everything she did in life, she was written into the Throne of Heroes. Um... People like Sherlock, Merlin, Chiron and Achilles are also written in there.

...Chiron? [All of those names are familiar, sure, but one sure does stick out. He sounds a little baffled.]

... Did you know him too?

His other title is Great Sage of Centaurs. He was one of the Archers I knew during the Grail War. I would've liked to talk to him more... he was a great teacher.
