They're versatile, and there are so many different types of clothes that you can achieve what you want to get out of them while also feeling comfortable in what you're wearing. Trying something new helps expand your horizons. Also, when you have a goal in mind, picking an outfit specifically for that goal can help you get it.
It's like, "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have," you know? ...eh, I dunno if anyone's ever said that to a sword before.
