Not really for me to tell, kiddo. Ask 'em and they'll tell you on their own. It's leverage to get people on their teams, but let's just say some of them are a lot nicer than others. There are some in the pantheon that have ideals I don't agree with. As long as I stay in the game, there's a chance to make sure they don't win. Everything after that? I don't care.
... for someone who just called themselves a winner, you don't seem that intent on actually winning. [ quiet, without accusation. ] It sounds a lot like you just want to make sure that things turn out for the best.
The world should be something protected where the darkness isn't going to be too overbearing. I get that people have troubles and worries, but I want a world where you can overcome those because the light will be right there. I want a world where you can protect the things that matter, responsibilities aren't stressful, and people remember that fun is just as important as growing up.
[ ... kind of stares at Merriment in some small surprise? Whatever he was expecting, it wasn't that.
In the end Yu will hum, a deeply thoughtful sound. ]
That sounds like a nice world to live in. [ his voice is sort of nostalgic. He'll smile then, sudden but quiet. ] If that's the case, then ... I'm honored I'm one of the people you were willing to give a chance.
[Merriment stops walking around and kicking the snow, looking down at Yu curiously though it's hard to see with the mask.]
Even if I don't win...as long as it's one of the others who have good ideas in mind I'm not too worried. They're good kids who'll need some guidance anyway. [And they jump down to land in front of Yu.]
Can't say I'm too surprised you picked who you did, so...thanks for considering me anyway.
Then keep trying to do that, kiddo. This game's going to weigh on people and upset them, but as long as there's people around to still help bring joy to them it might soften the blow. That's all I can really ask.

[ A slight smile. ]
Merriment... it's something I'd have liked to align myself with, if things had been different. Bringing joy to others... it's a special thing.

Mind if I come see you again sometime?

Sure. You know how to find me just like everybody else. [They're an offering away, after all.]
