[It seems appropriate to meet back in the parlor where Love is sitting on the piano bench, waiting for Yu.]

I don't think I've ever heard that one before.

[covenantal]

[ He'll smile slightly as he heads in, taking a seat on the bench next to her. ]

That's because I wrote it. [ A slight, crooked smile, and he'll start playing that same song. ] I know it isn't very good, but I put my feelings into it.

[ It has a sweet sound, sad, but from Nonon, he learned what notes sound like "hope" when you put them together. That's what Love's song sounds like. ]

I can tell. [She still sounds pretty delighted all the same, watching his fingers along the keys.] I didn't know you wrote music, too. What other hidden talents are you keeping from me?

[covenantal]

[ That wins a soft laugh. ]

Trust me, this one is brand new. You have Nonon-san to thank.

[ Now he's smiling down in earnest at the keys as he plays. ]

But I do make a mean curry. [ He glances sideways at her, mischief hiding in his eyes. ] Maybe someday I can cook for you.

Nonon-san's great, isn't she? Very talented. I'm excited to see what else you guys come up with. [There's a pleased hum.] I would like that. I've been learning to cook a little, too, but I like when you guys offer food.

[covenantal]

She's amazing, [ he'll say, with sincere respect. ] She's a better teacher than she thinks. I'll be sure to write more music for both of you.

[ A little smile for Love. ] What's your favorite food, Love? I'd be happy to make something for you. Anything you like.

That would be amazing. I'd like to hear her play sometime, too, with something you wrote. She seems happy with music.

[And yet. Food.] Hmm...I like a little of everything, but I miss curry. Like really good curry. I haven't been able to get it right even since I got here.
