... I won't say no, if that's what you decide to do. Not that I even could. But I came because I wanted to make you another offer. ... you ... know I was tied up most of last week, right?
It's hard to picture Jude "weaseling" out of anything. But. ]
... I won't speak for Jude-san. But I'd still like to try and honor our agreement. [ with quiet but genuine concern. ] ... after I saw the follower counts this week, it seemed even more important.
Why do you think that was what I'd asked for in the first place? I've been really trying to up my PR game but nobody is going for. I've lost five followers now, more if you count defections that have come and gone just to squeeze free perks out of me.
[He groans, his hands coming up to rub at his mask.]
[ god, five. whatever everyone's reasons, as a god, that has to sting. Yu is quiet for a long moment. ]
... this is a complicated game. I know people who have defected because of deals they made, or to seek a new power. It isn't always because they believe in another god more. I don't think you're necessarily doing anything wrong. This game ... it makes demands on all of us.
[ ... ] If I can somehow keep you safe, then I will. I don't want to see another god go through what happened to Fortune and Ruin. We failed them, and if I can help you... [ He's quiet, but there's still passionate sincerity in his voice. ] I will.
I'm always offering deals, babe, it's what I do. Depends on what they're asking for, but for a dedicated follower I can do a lot more than anyone else.
[In his opinion, at least.]
After the stunt Ray tried to pull on me, though, I'm not taking any cut corners.
Since they won't take it from me, go for it! I can make items easier than any other god in this game. Things that could save a person's life, you know. Maybe if all six of my followers had bothered to trust me, there could've been a lot less death.
An item that could save someone's life? [ This visibly startles him. ] ... when you say "trust you," what do you mean? For them to simply believe in you, or to trust in your vision for the new world?
At this point, that I'm not just full of myself. Look, I'm a pretty cocky guy, I'll admit that. But I flat out told my followers--the ones that came to see me--that I could give them whatever they wanted and only one of them gave me the chance to prove it. The rest assumed I was full of it and left.
[He scoffs.]
And now, weeks later, they've seen some of the low-tier items I've made. Too bad half of them have trapped themselves in worse deals with more ruthless competitors. I'm not a promise breaker. You help me, and I help you.

Yeah, I did. I'd made them maybe once before, so it was a real challenge. I'm glad to hear you liked them.

It's almost a shame that I'm going to have to curse you after you went through the trouble.

[ yeah, that tracks. ]

[He taps his masked chin.]
So, hit me. What's your new offer?

Same deal. Now that I can actually talk to everyone all week, and try and find someone for you. [ With faint, very wry humor. ]

[He sits up on his elbows.]
You're not going to try and weasel out of it like your pal Jude?

I'm seriously starting to sweat, you know?

[Pity him, Yu, he's a sad, sad llama.]
I don't think anyone else is going to offer. I'm not really one to beg, you know, but...
[He wants to ask for help without, asking,]

... I'll let people know, then. You're full of surprises, Indulgence.
