Before all of this, in the old life, I was a homicide detective. People were cruel and malicious and the police weren't able to figure out what was happening, so it was up to us. I know this is how we have to proceed but that doesn't mean I have to like it, or that I can't figure out a way to make the damage less.
For now? Focus on getting allies, most likely. The closest thing I have is an agreement with Sasuke, and he's probably the most unstable person in this competition at the moment, so I'm not going to count on anything except making sure I'm not on his kill list.
The trial's proven how useful it can be to have people who will defend you. In the end, it's just as much about emotions as it is about proof.

I don't intend to act on my emotions. I won't say I'll never, but I think the past trial is already an example of how they can get out of hand. We wasted a lot of time with pointless arguing.
...I still don't want you guys to kill people. Itachi-san didn't listen to me and that still makes me really mad, but...because of this? I am worried people are going to start targeting anyone they think can't put up a fight or anyone from one of the leading factions. Even with Itachi-san's fate, I think I'm still the furthest ahead.
