[In the parlor, Beauty's set up a table for two with the same layout of fancy teas and the like. There's also donuts? So that's something.

Beauty's seated in his chair and seems to be staring out the window when Taka comes in, but he lifts a hand in greeting.]

Welcome, Shishimaru-kun. Please have a seat.

[It's a little more formal than usual, but he's being polite and gracious as usual.]

[ well that's not surprising

he sits down and. looks down at the table before looking back at beauty. ]

Donuts?

I can get you something else if you'd prefer? I was thinking about donuts this morning, so I brought some. [Thanks Beauty.]

[bakaomi]

Nah. They're fine.

[ he'll take one? but he doesn't actually bite into it. ]

[divus]

[That's fine. Beauty's just fussing with his hands a little, unsure of what to be doing. It's hard to eat with a mask, and Takaomi's sitting there...but he props his head up with a hand to look him over.]

How may I help you today?

Well...

[ he sighs. ]

This is awkward, right?

A little, yes. [He sounds embarrassed at least and turns his head just enough.] Though it's been a while since someone's been rendered speechless by my looks.

[bakaomi]

[ there's a pause, and then he snorts. ]

Yeah. That's it.

[divus]

[Look.]

As I've thought. My deepest apologies for such a hardship. [On the other hand, Beauty picks up the cup of tea, holding it in his hands for warmth.]

...it's really only as awkward as we make it, I think.

[bakaomi]

... I'm not mad at you or anything. It's not like it's your fault that Senri is like that.

Isn't it? [Idly. Thoughtfully. A spoon stirs around in the teacup but somehow doesn't clink against the china.] Often I wonder what would have happened if Senri hadn't seen my face.

[...it would just be faceless useless gayness, probably, but let him muse on this.] ...truthfully, it's why I didn't take him seriously when he first asked me.

[And it's not like he'll admit that to Senri's face, but obviously this is so much better.]

[ it would have definitely been faceless gayness, but taka won't say that because he refuses to give tamaki any sort of boost here. he's not mad but he's still petty. ]

About going on a date, right?

That's correct. But I suppose it no longer really matters. I'm not the one he's going home with, and so it may be better this way.

[That doesn't mean it's still a little unfair and sad, but that's not Taka's problem and he knows that.]

[bakaomi]

Mm... maybe. I still kind of did steal him from you.

[ because there is no way senri was going to confess to taka. ]

[There's a quiet laugh.] Taking what you want is the appropriate thing to do in a game like this. That, and you would not be the first person I've bowed to.

[...like...it took him until this very instance and becoming a god to realize he had actual feelings for someone, but. He tried.] I had my warning in my previous life and I didn't understand. I still don't, I think, but I wouldn't really call it stealing. Stealing would have been if he didn't wish to go with you willingly.

[bakaomi]

Nah. He just would have rejected me.

[ senri is needy and wants romance but if he would have truly been unhappy with it, he would have said so. ]

... I do have to admit you kind of helped.

[Odd. For a moment Beauty doesn't reply, but there's a little sigh as he straightens up again.]

How so?

[bakaomi]

Talking to you last time really annoyed me.

[ it was a combo of takaomi realizing he had a crush, and then realizing beauty also most likely had one, and senri going on a fucking date with sasuke. ]

[divus]

...so you acted out of jealousy?

[bakaomi]

Sort of?

[ he pauses as he tries to. figure out how to word this. ]

It's more like, I don't think I would have said anything because... that's not the kind of thing I'm... good at. So he kind of annoyed me into doing it.

[divus]

I see. [...Takaomi made a mistake, because Beauty ponders again.]

...a boy I considered a friend liked a girl. He told me he didn't want me to come on a trip with them because he liked this girl, and he was planning to ask her out. I wasn't even aware of it until then, and so they went.

She rejected him, but he came back to me and said that I was to give it everything I've got and stop holding back. I suppose he, too, was annoyed into doing things and tried to annoy me as well.

[Thanks a fucking lot, Hikaru.] Shishimaru-kun. Annoyance or not, I believe your feelings for him are stronger than anything else you feel, yes? [Not necessarily positive ones all the time, but in general.]

[ oh... rip beauty

but takaomi doesn't respond right away as he considers all of this. ]

... yeah. They are.

[ absolutely nothing annoys him as much as senri does, but. the only other thing that makes him as happy is music. ]

Then...I wish you nothing but happiness. [Even if this continues being hard on him. But it's whatever, he'll get over it.]

... if you're nice about it you make it hard to be annoyed at you.
