You'd think after the whole arm thing a few weeks ago they'd have learned that there are consequences, but whatever. If it helps people go join Cunning and keeps him safe, they can break all the rules they want for all I care.
What was the reason behind the majority voting for this sort of competition? And furthermore, the reason for selecting this particular group to participate in it? It's as you've said, after all. Some among our numbers are lacking in... common sense, so to speak.
[Cut jump to all the rule breaking--]
I feel like many of the mechanics you've carefully crafted are almost wasted on them.
What, the whole... numbers thing, or the trial thing?
[Ambition waves a hand dismissively.]
As for the people we picked to be here - it's more like you picked that you'd be here. We sent out a general call looking for people who wanted something badly enough to compete for it. All of you were the first forty-two people to answer it.
It was supposed to be a just-in-case thing in case you guys decided to kill people. But surprise, surprise - now you're all doing it every week.
[rip]
Who knows? Kept calling until someone did answer, maybe. Or maybe if no one had answered, we'd have given up the ridiculous idea of having people who aren't gods decide, and found another way.
Right. I didn't like it. Like, hello? How is anyone supposed to respect a bunch of gods who couldn't even do something as simple as choose a leader without pulling a bunch of people in to decide for them? Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.
[She pauses, then looks off to the side.]
...but I guess it hasn't been completely terrible. Some of you aren't so bad.
You could always say you were so generous as to allow the mortals to decide, should you propagate your own creation myth.
[Heavily! Edit! The! Truth!
That brief deredere, tho...]
... No, I concur. It's been... pleasant... to have the opportunity to meet some of the participants in this competition. I'm sure they're glad to have met you, as well.

[SIGHS.]
Seriously? Fortune was right there the entire time.

rip indeed!!
[The greatest trainwreck of the week, basically.]
I'm aware it would be nearly impossible for this scenario to happen— But, theoretically, what would you have done if no one answered the call?

W-well of course they're glad to have met me. Everyone adores me.

You're a goddess, after all. It's the highest of honors to make your acquaintance.

Yeah, exactly. So - what other truths do you recognize around here?

Is there a specific participant you want to hear my opinion on? Or do you wish to know what I think of the group as a single entity?
