[She nods in some off kilter mirror of their head bowing and looks towards a nearby seat before moving to sit.]
It's nice to meet you. I was interested in meeting all the gods here, and I thought it made the most sense to begin with the three who asked for my consideration.

That's an understandable way to begin. It can be overwhelming, being thrust into a situation like this without much preamble...but all the same, thank you for your participation. Regardless of who has your support, you're doing a service, ultimately, for us all.
[Piety folds their hands in their lap, voice consistent in its softness.]
I don't find it very overwhelming. I am glad to be here.
[But, all the same...]
I was somewhat surprised at your selection. Though I've always had knowledge of many human religions, many wouldn't consider a machine a likely candidate for that kind of belief.
[Which is a roundabout way of asking why they were interested, of course.]
To me, what you are doesn't make much difference. Mine is not a faith in a higher power so much as a faith for faith's sake. A belief in something good, whether it's a belief in the future, humanity, or even oneself.
[Piety looks idly toward the fire.]
I hate to be so forward, but part of what made me interested in having you as a part of my team is because, underneath the surface of things, we have much in common.
A few. Maybe sometime later, if you're able to visit more often, I may tell you more, but I can tell you, at least, that I was also raised in forceful seclusion by an unkind man.
[Lifting a hand slightly, Piety shakes their head.]
It's all in the past, now.
[And what matters most of all is the present.]
I can tell you my thoughts, but ultimately it's up to you to make your own decisions about his true character. About the character of us all. Cunning, I feel, is a very strong and intelligent individual. I've always treated him with consideration and him to me in turn, though I wouldn't say we're close despite this. He's the type who I believe is willing to sacrifice anyone and anything that stands in the way of his goals, but when not opposed is a loyal friend.
Yes, that's correct. None of us are allowed or able to interfere in any way with the affairs of another. The only way for us to learn what is said between any given god and competitor is if we trade information or receive it from another, same as any of you.
[Truly, they're playing just as much, no matter how in control they seem.]
I see. The reason behind my asking was... I am not certain whether I trust him, but I'm concerned about some form of retaliation if I decided to defect.
It's possible that you may be landed with a curse if you defect, but it's hard for me to say if Cunning would be the type to do so. I feel that...so long as it were a gracious defection, he'd be less inclined to act out on it.
[Ava doesn't really seem like the type to rub salt in an open wound, but...]
I understand your concern. There are those among us who aren't above ruling through fear to keep control over a shaken following.
Not exactly, just that I can only give you my informed opinions and they may not reflect complete fact.
[So, with that in mind.]
Ruin, perhaps. Ambition, Disorder, and maybe even Indulgence. For the last two, however, I'd think it would depend heavily on their mood. They're both rather the changeable type.
[Piety, of course, cannot provide much in the ways of expression, but one of their hands comes up over their heart, and their voice reflects the same kind of hesitation.]
I wouldn't ever try and persuade you to defect from any other team if it went against your wishes, but if you did decide to join me at any time, I'll always welcome you with open arms.

[The next words catch her interest more than the first, though, and she leans forwards, a light whirring noise coming forth.]
In what way?

[And maybe it's due to the shared experience, but it's sincerely spoken. She tilts her head, though, moving on.]
I'm uncertain about how much you can tell me, but what do you know about Cunning?

[She looks thoughtful at that, processing everything that Piety is saying.]
I see. [...] Are all the conversations we have with each of you private from the other gods?

Are you allowed to interfere in the contest we're taking part in by any means?

[Piety's fingertips steeple together.]
I prefer to be as honest as possible in what I do, but I understand the feelings that tend to lead to subterfuge.

[A pause, and a hesitant expression.]
It would be nice to be allied with someone similar to myself.
