The purpose was the same, but initially, I'd simply put in the suggestion that we allow mortals to decide which of us they felt most befitting, to avoid any interpersonal biases.

...I can't say I'm happy with Itachi-san's choice. Or his choice in target. I don't want anyone else to die for his mistakes, so that's why I'm trying to fix this now.

There's a fair amount of people vouching for the integrity of at least most of the suspected Gods, and while I'm aware all we have to go off of is your word, filtered through theirs... If that many of you were truly so pacifistic, how did things manage to go from the original pitch to, well, this?

I'll let you play with him sometime if you want, only if you can promise not to skewer him. Not exactly, no. But the idea to turn it into such a grand sort of competition got out of hand too fast for me or those who agreed with me to backtrack, and there was no talking the others out of it. To some of them, the need to overpower or outmaneuver one another outweighs their better judgment.
