Yes. I don't have many memories [Because he was on earth for about two months], but the ones I have I cherish.

The good thing about memories, too, is that there's always time to make them. You've made some here despite the bad things happening, haven't you?

I've made some friends here that I don't think I'd ever have the chance to encounter where I was.

That's the spirit! And you've still had fun with them outside of the dark times, right? Those are memories we want you to be able to keep when this is all over.

Even if they're painful, I want to keep all my memories.

Having experience with death. I don't know if I've heard any of you say it so casually.

It's just something that happened. There's no reason to be worried about it.

Most Heroic Spirits know what it's like to die anyway.

Hmm... Sort of. Spirits aren't really alive to start with.

A spirit from the Grail is only a copy, if they die they really die. If they're summoned again they don't have memories of the last time they were summoned.

But do they have the same skills and stuff? It sounds complicated and...a little sad, I guess.

[heartmunculus]

They do. Every version of Okita Souji would be the same as any other when they were first created for the War. Their experiences are what makes them different, but only Rulers remember every War they're in.

And you become a Ruler how, exactly? [A beat.] If it's too complicated to explain, that's okay.

[heartmunculus]

A Ruler is somebody who has a story or legend but doesn't have a wish they want granted by the Grail.

[divus]

Soooo...you could be a Ruler if you wanted?

[heartmunculus]

[Shakes his head.]

I don't have that right. I'm here for a wish. Even something like "I want to fight" counts.

Jeanne d'Arc, Amakusa Shirou Tokisada, and Sherlock Holmes are the three most prominent ones.

Is that really a wish instead of just a basic choice? That sounds so complicated.
