I guess I could be encouraging everyone to dwell on the fact that they were all killed in one way or another and get to sit around being dead when they probably won't even get their wish granted before I send them all back home. But, you know, party games seems a bit of a better distraction from all that doom and gloom.
[Patience gives a slight huff.]
But since dating has clearly been working out well for you, judging by the way you responded to that fake letter, maybe you have a better idea and want to tell me a thing or two.
I really don't know what you're talking about. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't be here right now. I've never tried to make it seem like I felt any other way.
Some of us who're with the gods with lower numbers have been tossin' around the idea of formin' alliances to better protect ourselves an' our gods to prevent a repeat of what happened to Fortune-han an' Ruin-han. Is that somethin' that's actually gonna work in our favor, or are we all wastin' our time?
[She leans forward so she can rest her translucent elbows on the platform with the offering dish, tapping a nail against her mask's cheek in thought.]
It cooooould be clever, in a couple of ways. It creates a stronger unit of people, and under the right terms, no matter which one of them ends with the most followers, everyone on that alliance will benefit. However...spread an alliance too far or with too much overlap and there might be hurt feelings or declarations of duplicitous intent.
[Patience hums a bit more.]
If the numbers stay spread even, you can easily use that alliance to win. But if just one god outside of it gains a substantial lead...then it's when it starts looking like a long shot.

[ cheekiness aside, he unfolds the note from his pocket and hands it to her. ]
Got this from your side a lil' while ago. Indulgence-han couldn't tell me anything about it.

This isn't my handwriting at all! Someone totally, totally played a prank on us!

. . . There's only so many people it can be, ain't there?

[ :) ]
Sorry for the confusion, sweetie.

[ a beat ]
How's it goin' over there?

[ for a second, he's... "appalled" is too strong of a word, but "dismayed" seems a little too tame. hm. ]
. . . Guess we can't say anything when we were just speed datin' an' ballroom dancin', huh.

I'll shut up now.

[Just watch your tone you yakupunk.]
Don't tell me you don't like me anymore just because you're not single. I thought we really hit it off back when I was around for the week.

With all due respect, I'm really startin' to feel like you're sendin' me mixed messages, Patience-han.

Then... uh... I'm flattered? [ pause ] Actually, yeah—has anyone else tried to set up an audience with ya since ya left?

What makes me so special?

[She give a bit more thought to it, though.]
I guess I also think it's nice, how fiercely you protect the people you care about.

Ya know, I've never really thought of myself as a likable person, but I keep hearin' that... it's honestly kinda bafflin'.

So, tell me, while I'm here, I might as well be helpful. Is there anything you need?
