[This is basically the most unfortunate thing, but after Newt passes the threshold of the dungeons, he finds himself in one of the cells. A masked figure peers at him through the opening.]
[There will be a time on Wednesday where Newt enters the East Wing's bar and finds it empty. Empty, that is, except for a god waiting in a booth. The second they lock eyes, they tap a finger on the table.]
[Normally any of Ruin's followers would be enough to set Merriment on guard...but this catapult's really friggin' cool. Hopefully Newt realizes this means Merriment is back to playing with it immediately and they're crouched next to one of the fire pits in the snow, letting snowballs fly and checking their distance.
When Newt arrives though they barely look up.]
The houses are warmer. [It's sort of an offer, but the cold never bothered Merriment anyway.] And no promises on a favor, but I'll see what I can do. Newt, right? [A pause, curious.] Should...I be calling you doctor?
[When Newt enters the armory he'll find that there's his chess set sitting on the table the weapon log book usually sits. He'll also find a tall figure bent just slightly to look it over, and one of the black pieces has since moved in an appropriate space. ]
[As Newt finishes his song, a figure starts to appear on top of the piano, looking down at him with head perched atop her knuckles. Slowly, Patience becomes more opaque, though she seems to retain a hint of a ghostly outline about her.]
You're really persistent, you know? I like that in a man.
[When Newt walks into the private study, he'll find Ambition seated on one side of the desk, a clipboard in front of her and his resume in one hand. There's a seat on the other side of it - she gestures for him to take it.
[Newt enters the pool and he's just in time to see a flash of gold and red shooting down the water slide, only the figure's standing, and leaps off at the last second to come to a graceful landing at the edge of the water. Without wasting any time, he's more or less in Newt's space, empty margarita glass in hand, and throwing one arm around Newt the other is pressing the glass into Newt's just, trying to force him into taking it instinctively.]
If you had the chance, the once in a lifetime chance, to jump into a pool of nothing but alcohol, and here we're assuming that this wouldn't be something that would make your eyes burn or cause any other kind of horrendous medical condition, would you do it? You'd do it, wouldn't you? Tell me you'd do it. Because I think I'm gonna do it.
[Newt will find himself in the game room and Merriment's seated on the edge of a chair, hovering over what looks like the game of Life. He's pushing around one of the little toy cars, but he looks up when Newt walks in.]
I hit him with a snowball and I think we're making progress. [What's up.]
[When Newt gets to the lab, Justice is ready with blankets and pillows. Hard to say exactly where he got them, but, he probably had help somewhere! He's looking over the blueprints, too, and all but vibrating.]
[When Newt enters the lab, he'll discover Justice sitting in a corner with his gift on his lap. He'll be greeted to the bark, bark, barking of the tiny machine before Justice himself says anything. But he finally does look up, that masked face somehow still so despondant.]
