[The beauty salon is empty when Alex enters it - the perfect chance to explore a little on his own.
Beauty salon hair dryers look like torture devices but there sure are five of them lined up along the wall to his left when he enters the room. There are five spinny chairs in front of mirrors on the side of the room across from them, where an assortment of hair styling tools are spread out on a counter.
The wall opposite the entrance, meanwhile, has shelves built right into a wall with an array of nail polishes and a few tables for manicures and pedicures.
Okay, JRPG logic actually does have him go toward the mirrors because he wants to check that counter first. This totally looks like a puzzle set up, so he needs to find the hint.]
[Hmm... Is this not a "put the chairs in the right order" set up? But that's totally normal!
His next main point of interest is the shelves, but since he's here, he'll check out the chairs. Spin them, see if there's anything that makes one stand out visually or otherwise, that sort of them.]
[The chairs spin and spin and spin, but don't seem too out of the ordinary otherwise.
If he's headed over to the shelves of nail polish next, he'll note that they all seem to be from the same brand. There is a wide array of colors of polish on the shelf, with an assortment of pinks, blues, golds, and whites bunched up at the center; aside from those colors, though, they aren't organized in any particular order. The blacks and reds seem to be used most often, as there is less dust on them.]
He at least notices the similarities of some of the markings, "brands" aren't really a thing in Weyard. He starts picking up individual bottles to examine them, not seeming to care about how dusty they may or may not be. Gold is such a nice color after all... So is blue!]
[Eh, maybe if he thinks he has an actual use for them... Let's pick up the other colors too just to be sure. Starting with the reds and blacks, and if those yield nothing he'll give white and pink a once over too.]
[Okay, well since he hasn't seen anything to help explain them in any of these places, it's time to check out those weird hair dryer things. He'll be especially thorough trying to see how and if they move and whatnot, because they're very foreign to him.]
[They don't really move much, but when he presses some buttons on them, they all start working. It's very loud, and very warm just under the little dome thingies.]
He'll leave those running for now because he's a ninja like that. Let's do the next JRPG step and check the wall. Anything of potential interest there?]
[Rar. Okay, back over to the part where he heard the hollow sound. Would a careful visual/fingers along it examination reveals any cracks or anything else telling?]
[The wall seems entirely solid! If he keeps tapping, though, he'll find that the hollow part is basically exactly the right size and shape to be a door.]

What will he look at first?]

When he taps on the wall to the side of the nail polish shelf... it sounds different from the rest of the wall. In fact, it sounds almost hollow.]

Let's see just how built into the wall these shelves are. Can he pull them back?]
